After listening to all of the
speeches, I think the Republicans are going to be conducting an "E tan e epi tas" campaign. (Come home bearing your
shield or on it.) It seems almost as if they want to turn the US into the United States of Sparta. Either that or
they are going for the "pitty vote" i.e. Poor John got tortured, so he deserves to be President. I heard lots about
war and "security" but very little about economics and jobs or the environment, except "drill, drill, drill".

With all of the 9-11
specials on this past week end, I started thinking. When will we have our election year terrorist alert? I'm
thinking October 20 or so. Close enough to the election to remind people we "need a war hero as leader" and early
enough to not be "connected" to the election.
