Never argue with ignorant people! They pull you down to THEIR level, and then they BEAT YOU with experience. Who said that!? I don't know, but tis gold I tell'ya!!
I'm about to go watch
"W.i.l.l.o.w" so many people have told me that is one great movie so I'm about to make my own opinion on this
one....

“Shawn of the Dead”: There’s some
social satire, but mostly it’s a verry well done play on the tension/frustration you feel while watching stupid
people try to get away from mindless, slow moving zombies.
Warning! This is not a straight up comedy. There’s a
few shocks, lots of gore and way more suspense than “Resident Evil”.
Give truth a chance.
Anyone with a
taste for HORROR, seen THE GRUDGE? If so, is it worth me monies ... is it scary ... I like
being afraid!?

My co-worker, who's pretty
big (well, anyone who has me by a few inches and ~40 pounds is pretty sizable, in my opinion) and not very outwardly
expressive of his emotions, said he locked his door and had the light on all night after he saw it.
Mobley,
I'm getting a lot
of negative reviews from friends that have seen it. I'm interested in seeing "Ray" today. I got to see Ray
Charles in his last major performance up here in Seattle a year or two ago (awesome).
I'm planning on catching
"The Incredibles" next week. I'm a big Star Wars fan and I've heard that the teaser trailer for "Star Wars: The
Revenge of the Sith" is coming out before that movie.

I saw the 'Grudge' last weekend and I thought it was pretty scary. ItOriginally Posted by MOBLEYC57
sort of lost steam during the second half but the climax was pretty spooky. The Grudge is actually a remake of JuOn

available on video. If anyone is interested in Asian cinama check out this link -

not impressed.)

Has any1 seen the new excorcist
film, ive been told its scary, i might see it on the weekend
“House of Flying Daggers” is
amazing. Action, Romance, Intrigue and some of the best cinematography I’ve ever seen. (You barely even need the
subtitles. Most of the story is told visually and the dialogue just fills in a few details.)
I can’t wait
to see it again.

Door in the Floor...intelligent
well made movie...
Just caught the 7:10
showing of HITCH f/Will Smith, this p.m. It has been a looooooooooooong time since I've heard the
ENTIRE theatre crack up. There was an elderly man (60-70) behind me that could not stop laughing. The tears were
rolling down my face for almost the entire movie!
If your sense of humor isn't in need of a tune up, you need to see it! I
H I G H L Y recommend it for a good laugh!

I just saw this on DVD. Not impressed either. I highly
recommend the original Japanese version though. (You are talking about the American version, right?)

Saw it three times: Cheezy elements, and stuff I'dOriginally Posted by Holmes
heard before; but at the time I felt good leaving the theater. I liked it a lot. The idea that you create your own
reality (here ideas dovetailed with Matrix a bit) is empowering.
It was filmed right here, so I reconized many
of the places in the film. It also premiered here, so I saw it a long while ago.
It did so well, it stayed
showing at the same old theater (the one pictured in the film) for months, at two shows a day.
The film has
generated a lot of critical flack in the local press; from charges of "hippie bullshit," (Ramtha, etc.) to
controversy about some neocon religious cult that the filmmakers are involved with. For example:
http://www.wweek.com/story.php?story=5860
Ironically, the
neocon idea is that, since you create your own reality, where you are is your own damn fault: You're on your
own, and don't need the government's help! The "haves" deserve to have, and the "nots" don't.
This
underscores that the insight behind the film is a dangerous idea -- that, even if true, the "general
population of idiot monkeys" might not be ready for it. Personal responsibility is highly threatening to us, and in
fact is somewhat dangerous.
This is probably the one characteristic that keeps religion and its mindset from
evolving, to keep pace with reason and civilization. After all, if God is within each of us, rather than in the
Bible, what is to prevent everyone from making their own rules? Could everything become "permissable"? Wouldn't
that mean the crumbling of all sacred and secure things? This is to say nothing of the individual's power to
create.
It is impossible to overestimate the amount of fear that middle America feels at the half-witted
contemplation of these ideas.
The problem is, that for our fundamental ideas and beliefs about the universe to
not evolve is way more dangerous and threatening! The old set of ideas is killing us and our planet.
I
personally wanted them to emphasize the science more, and the "new-aginess" less. I thought they hurt their own
"case" unnecessarily with it. But the controversy that came out later suggested that the filmmakers may have had
another agenda.
But it was a huge popular success. I'm glad you got to see it. I had recommended the film to
others.
