Most folks have little sexual or
romantic interest when sick. They're uncomfortable, perhaps in pain, and procreation is probably the last thing on
their mind. Plus the body is using most of its resources to fight pathogens and heal. No amount of pheromones will
heal her. Sheesh, would you really want to have personal contact with a sick woman? Besides the obvious exposure
risk, she can't be much of a turn-on with doggie breath, runny nose and bag eye...

I too have wondered (as I'm a
Chicago area resident as well) how much the sniffles may affect the VNO receptors that are supposedly picking up the
pheromone scents. I know with my last bad cold (just a few weeks ago) I couldn't smell (or hardly taste) a thing.
Besides feeling like I just wanted to curl up and sleep it off (did so for almost three days actually...) so I would
suspect as was said that sex is one of the last things on anyone's mind (even faded from my mind during that
week...).
But the question remains... how much does a runny nose or bad cold affect the VNO, if at all? I don't
recall seeing that covered in my Scent of Eros book... I *do* think all the extra layers of clothing we wear here
can affect the disbursal of pheromone products especially when applied to areas like the wrists and chest, which are
usually coverd with coats and gloves. And even applications to the neck may be affected by the scarves and pulled-up
collars/hoods. At least I've noticed my only possible "hits" of late have been when I have been indoors where it's
been warm enough to have the coats at least unzipped/open.
Of course there is a difference
between what we consciously smell and the pheromones that affect us even though we don't smell them - but I have
read in numerous places that people without a sense of smell (whether due to congenital anosmia, nerve njury or zinc
toxicity) also miss out in the libido department - not that it's entirely VMO-driven, but the pheromonal & scent
contribution seems to be pretty important. I think it affects mood as well. So it makes a lot of sense that stuffy
noses don't make for the best erotic response (but then there's the Viagra piece - it sure does stuff the nose! so
who knows?)
thanks guys for all your help.
i guess spring time is better than winter to see results from
mones.

off topic a bit - when lots of
people have the cold and flu jump in and expose youreself - get sick and then next year youre immunity is sky high
Something to keep in mind... I
always have a really low sex drive when sick. However, I have known a couple of girls that get -really- randy when
they are sick...I don't know why, and they didn't either, but it just was that way with them.
So, I'm not sure
if they could pick up the phero's but it could result in some interesting hits if you came across one of these
oddities.
...on the other hand, I never found girls with fever, blood-shot eyes, coughing, and mucus that
attractive...but to each their own!

By "expose yourself" do you mean whip my raincoat open and give them all something to laugh atOriginally Posted by Watcher

I dont think they have to smell
the scent to have the effect right? thats why there is mroe than a 3 foot radius right?
I have had a direct reaction from SOE, from a woman who was sick. It was an SOE-like reaction, IOWOriginally Posted by chicago

I like this question. I've
learned over time that what would otherwise be an overdose of 'mones is safe around women whose sense of smell is
impaired for some reason.
Aside from colds, sinus problems, etcetera, I've noticed that women who work in
Beauty Shops / Hair Salons don't seem put off by huge doses of 'mones; I expect this is because of all the
chemical smells they're exposed to.
