Default Recommend Me a New Cover Scent

    visit-red-300x50PNG
Been digging through the posts here a lot deeper than I ever did before. That\'s one reason I decided

to finally register, I\'ve found it interesting, educational, and entertaining. There was one thread about

colognes that caught my eye, especially how the women here raved over three specific ones, Le Male, Angel, and

Victoria\'s Secret Very Sexy for Men.

I wrote in my first post at this forum that I was a big fan of Realm and

have been using it for several years now. After reading the thread on the colognes and seeing the raves of the three

mentioned above, I\'ve been thinking of getting one or two of them on my next trip to the big city in

    May.

Before Realm, I was an English Leather kind of guy. I still like to use their stick deodorant. But for about

the last ten years, if I wore cologne at all, it has been Realm. Well, I would sometimes use Andros (billed as a

cologne), which I mentioned in my first post, but pretty much gave it up after the experience with the pickpocket.

Besides, there are so many better pheromone products to choose from here. (Not to mention the knowledge base.) I

like Realm a lot, but am thinking of adding some variety to my mix, especially something that doesn\'t already

    contain pheromones.

Anyway, here\'s a bit of a physical description of myself. I\'m 44 years old,

5\'9\'\', brown hair, blue or hazel eyes (people tell me blue but the birth certificate says hazel). I wear

glasses, have a full (but trimmed) beard and could stand to lose a few pounds (working on it). Kind of the \"teddy

    bear\" type of guy.

My question is, of the three colognes, Angel, Le Male, or VS Sexy for Men, what is the most

recommended. Are they appropriate scents for someone my age? Would they appeal to women say around 35 to 45 years

old? Or are they for a younger crowd?

Now I wouldn\'t make a purchase like this blind, and I have a couple of

months yet before I can hit the big department stores or Victoria\'s Secrets in San Diego. Do these types of

places have small samples of their product, besides an in-store application, so one can give it a try without

forking out $80 for a full bottle?

And finally, are all three of these fragrances recommended only for evening

wear or can any of them be used in the daytime too?

    What about

APC? A lot of people here have raved about Amouage to.
You may find online shops that do discounted stuff and

maybe even smaller bottles so you don´t have to pay that much to check them out? Or ask for samples at a store, can

be tricky but if the people theree are nice you might be lucky

    Angel

& Le Male are similar. Le Male too light and not good with pheros IMO. I have Rochas Man which is similar to

both and has a better scent IMO. My favorite wth pheros is chrome. If you can afford Creed Himalaya I\'d try it

out if I were you. Many like Gucci Envy too. Amouage Dia/Gold seems to be popular too but very pricy I expected hit

successes with it but have not read too many.

Between Le Male, Angel, and VS, I\'d recommend VS. Angel and Le Male aren\'t anywhere near as versatile as VS.

Stop by a VS to try the scent though. I like it, but it may not be deep enough for your tastes, imagining what

    English Leather must smell like.

If you\'re looking to try lots ot scents or want to buy a few on the cheap,

give Ebay a whirl. I\'ve bought several through it and have always come away happy.

    Jackpot!

Just found a german site, where you can order 6 samples of Amouage for 6 EUR!! They have

other expensive colognes and Eau dé Toiletes as well, but I\'m really only used to more \"earthly\" scents, like

Bruno Banani (Not for Everybody) or other reasonably priced ones... ;-)

Well, I will report back whether I think

it\'s worth buying a whole bottle for 150€

Actually you could probably still get free samples from the company directly.

Hmm, I think they don\'t ship outside of germany, it says: Shipping prices to other parts of the

world on demand. So I guess they won\'t do it for 6EUR...

Happy to PM the link though, if anyone is willing to try!?

They have either 2 or 4 different ones for men (2 marked unisex). I asked them nicely to either send

all different ones for free, or charge 6 EUR to my account and send 6 small vials.

    So I don\'t really know

    \"what I\'m in for\" yet...

    Now

I\'m gonna smell SCHWEET! for the rest of the year.

Hmm. But considering the \"piss\" smell of -none, mabbe

with A*men, I can try to move nearer to the OD side with less bad effects?

No. The effect of the \'mones is still going to be there regardless of the cover scent.

Less is more is as applicable to pheromones as it is to colognes and perfumes. Not only do you \"personalize\"

yourself scent wise instead of creating a pheromone cloud that others might benefit from instead of yourself, you

remove the possibility of the negative side effects (aggression, distancing, etc.) associated with OD\'ing on

\'mones. Subtlety is the key. Don\'t be a walking ball of stink with either \'mones or colognes. The human

sense of smell is more powerful than one initially thinks.

I just got my Amouage Samples!

Silver and Gold... Edt and Cologne of each...

    Just tried a spray

of Silver Edt. Results so far:

\"Interesting\", I\'m not really blown away actually, but that will most

likely get better as it fades a bit... Really sweet, almost animal-musk-smelling-like...

    Howdy,

a newbie here. One of my favorite scents is New West. It smells great. As a matter of fact, my ex used to call it

\"sure f--k\". Women love the smell of it. As for getting the colognes you are looking for, there are a bunch of

web sites that sell cologne. just type perfume in the search window and go. One that I liked is fragrancenet.com

I just tried Gold EdT as opposed to Silver EdT

    yesterday:

I actually like it better than silver and to my (untrained-amateur)nose it does smell similar to some

    extent...

It is DAMN heavy, though... Just like I had read beforehand...

A friend of mine works in a

    New

West is an UNBELIEVABLE scent. Unfortunately, it was discontinued, but is apparently available now in a small-run

batch, though it\'ll cost ya. I\'d imagine you can find something about it over at

    basenotes.com
