LOVE the little prince! It´s a classic and a must read for everyone! If you have kids, give them this book to

read, you can´t go wrong with it imo I also had it the audio on

tape, wonderful
I really liked Lindgren and Anderson to

Point is that Exupery is

a faerytale for grownups. The apparent story is simple, but the nearly infantile form hosts ideas that could be put

in top philosophers\' work and nobody would complain This is the beauty of it.

yes, I agree, it´s a simple

read but deep. That´s why it´s great for children too I think I

don´t think that a great book needs to be pretentiously formulated to make it intelligent.

Quite the opposite.

Anybody can wrap those ideas in 400 pages of dull text full of foreign words, but those who can put it simply so

that it speaks right to the soul are the real bad a*ses.

By the

way it\'s hard to believe Johnny Depp is 40, he looks 20 years younger than that, not that 40 is old at all

anyhow. Good genes I guess? Keanu Reeves too.

I\'ve always thought Depp

was a class act. The thing at the kids\' hospital just further illustrates that.

I got a kick out of an

interview that Johnny Depp gave around the time of the release of \"Pirates\".
He said that his

characterization of Capt. Sparrow was based on a combination of two \"personnae\" that he might someday like to

portray.
Captain Jack was Depp\'s blending of the traits of both Keith Richards and
Pepe\' Le Pew.

BTW-- He apparently stayed ENTIRLEY in

character, during his visit to the kids. He swaggered and flitted all over the unit, and told stories about pirate

life that he made up on the spot.

The medical staff are pretty happy with him.

I kinda wish he\'d won

Best Actor; would\'ve been great to see him recognized by an organization he clearly could give a sh*t about.

Still, it\'s

hard to argue with Sean Penn. Or Bill Murray.

(Cheers to Sophia Coppola, BTW!

You know Penn could give a sh!t about Hollywood too though. Murray was great in lost in

translation. I actually got to see him in New Jersey last summer. Anyway, Penn still deserved it more, and every

director knows having him is huge. Even Terrence Mallick.

Depp is great, I respect him alot too, but I still

don\'t think he is as good, and Pirates of the Carribean was torture. It was a movie for seven-year-olds and he

did a good job, but no big deal.

Alot of Depp\'s movie choices have been annoying, his characters all seem to

take place in the 1800s.

bjf,

True enough

(regarding Penn). He did deserve it.

Still, it\'s unfortunate that, more often than not, \"Oscar-worthy\"

means \"loads o\' makeup and/or histrionics.\"

Coppola and co. did the most with the least.

The documentary

category always seems to have the most interesting films.

At least Errol Morris won, finally, as well.

But I

wish I had access to see more of those docs, they just aren\'t widely available. I can get him around here, but

that means knowing what the art theaters are playing, and I do not keep track of that.

bjf, if you want

intellectual stimulation, try READING the lord of the rings (I know you said you\'re not gonna do it)...
And BTW

the pirates isn\'t the kind of movie you expect to be stimulating. You expect it to be fun.
Basically, the entire

movie would be sooo pathetic without Johnny bringing a permanently drunk cynical element....
