Where Do I get Cheap Plane TIckets?

Hey, I

am trying to get down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras.

I had a certificate that guaranteed a 178 fare and now I

f\'en find out you need 14 day advance purchase. I need to leave the 20th.

I tried cheaptickets.com , best

I could find was 560 or so. Tried some bids on priceline, only got an offer for 700 a piece.

Do people know any good websites where I can pull

a rabit out of a hat? Trying to fly from any of the New York-Newark Airports.

I´ve no idea about inland US flights but airlines sometimes have special offers. So if you find the websites of the

Thanks for the suggestion. I already tried both. Would you believe priceline

wanted more than anyone else? There minimum was 700-plus for each ticket. I bit 225, which would have worked out

to 263.

This is what you get for making travel plans last minute, but that\'s the way I do things

anyway.

Holmes: Tried Expedia, minumum of 500 plus.

To Dawg: I tried ATA and Jet Blue individually because they are the

cheap airlines. ATA doesn\'t fly to New Orleans and Jet Blue still ended up pricey, though it would have been

cheap if I have I did it a bit more in advance.

I used to have something with American Express and Continental

that guaranteed me cheap fares, and you had to book withIN 14 days. However, they stopped the program in 2002.

Well the certificate

was for a 174 dollar fare. That meant that I still needed to pay 174 dollars, but I could get a cheap fare (as long

as I bopught tickets 14 days in advance, doh!).

So it would still work out to the same price.

Exit: I was

thinking a bus trip could be fun if everyone was going down there. However, the trip is 20 hours. I drove down

there two years ago on a 14 hour drive leaving at 10 pm. Actually my friend did most of the driving. . That was

hell. But 20 hours is tough even if I leave the driving to Joe Schmore. That\'s two or three days I\'d miss

of work.

If I lived closer, I would have just driven rather than a plane anyway.

The positive of all this is

that I have more money to flush down the au toilette at Love-Scent.
