Honestly, the

majority of people I know who are that picky about what people drive are guys.

Although it\'s not always the case, I think a lot of times this

is more something the guys are competitive about and blame it on women. I admit there are exceptions to this so

    don\'t everybody start flaming me.

I think what most women are concerned about is that a guy takes care of

his vehicle, and that it\'s clean. Nobody wants to run around in a junk heap (read \'74 Pinto with one door and

no brakes), but really, some guys are obsessive about their vehicles.

Yeah, there are exceptions, unfortunately. (And don\'t worry,

no flaming. My blowtorch bought it whilst whipping up that damn creme brulee.) Thing is, are those exceptions

    worth pursuing/knowing anyway?

Good point, though, that it\'s usually better if someone respects and looks

after the vehicle they\'ve got, whether it\'s a pimp-mobile or not.

    I agree too, and I\'d

much rather date a woman who\'s interested in a guy not based on his car. But I\'ve been around people (azn\'s

gals mostly) who are really into that. Not by assumption, but many of them litterally have expressed interest in the

guys with the suped up \"rice rocket\" vehicles. Now, that could also be due to the environment they were raised.

If they\'re from a neighborhood where cars mean success/stability and excitement, then that\'s what they\'ll

    see unless something changes them.

Also, in a \"survival of the fitest\" sort of view, a nice car also

symbolizes financial stability (sometimes, cuz some people spend ALL their money on the car and nothing else) so

it\'s more of a first impression. Like a resume to an interview. Wow, impresseive resume (car, suit, house, etc)

so that gets you in the door. After that, it\'s still relative to how well you treat the lady and vice

    versa.

This doesn\'t Always apply, I\'ve gone out with gals who are more for the love than the material

stuff. But the above does hold true in certain situations. So really, there\'s no ONE answer, just insights from

    all of our experiences

    That\'s right. Or he

invests the $110,000. Liabilities like the 911s and the Mr. T Starter Kits reveal either a tendency toward unhealthy

(or just annoying) exhibitionism, a compulsion to spend, or both.

    Not to mention with the

insurance on the 911, you could prob buy another car per year. But hey, it looks sweet

Spend the money on a cruise as

well! Those things are soooo relaxing!

Besides it´s a bit silly to put all your eggs into one basket. So he gets this Porsche and, perhaps meets a woman

who agrees to go out with him but can´t afford it cause he´s spent all his money on a bloody car

      . But let´s

face it, if a guy can afford to drive a flashy car a woman expects more than a meal at Pizza Hut right, even if

she´s not picky, at least I would. I´d think god this guy´s stingy or something -

Default Choice of Cars - Choice of BFs

    I\'ve

driven a couple of Porsches, several BMWs, a Volvo, and a Saab. Porsches and BMWs do impress the ladies.

    For

example, when I traded my BMW 325iS for a VW Cabrio, one gf just lost interest completely.

    Don\'t tell me that

women are not attracted to men with \"status\" automobiles!

Of course, the Cabrio is known far and wide as

the ultimate chick car. (At least it\'s not that special \"Barbie\" model!) I\'m thinking of getting a

    bumpersticker - \"It takes a REAL MAN to drive a chick\'s car.\"

    It\'s

quite likely Europeans have very different views on this than Americans. On average, Europeans are a little less

wealthy than Americans, more concerned about the environment, and pay much higher gas prices. European cities are

better designed for walking and mass transit.

In the U.S., people are a lot more car-oriented. I personally

don\'t feel the majority of women are hugely impressed by expensive cars, altho some are. But if a guy here

didn\'t even OWN a car, that would be a major negative for him, as far as almost all American women are concerned.

Maybe carlessness is a common thing in Europe, those of you over there can tell us across the Atlantic just how

    common it is.

    In regards

    to CJ\'s responses:

Keep in mind when I mentioned about the car, I also mentioned that it signifies some

financial stability in which the women may be attracted to. You know, lots of people are more interested in

successful (in one aspect or another) people to ensure a better future.

Like I said, the car is like a

resume... impressive to the interviewer (the date). It \"helps\" you get your foot in the door. But that

doesn\'t mean they\'ll keep you. After that, it\'s up to the rest of the person to do the right

    thing.

Good car doesn\'t equal good guy. That\'s true! But tell me that if you saw two guys pull up onto

the drive way, one with a 1989 Hatchback, and another with a BMW Z3, and both are pretty decent looking, I think

your first reaction may be to check out the guy with the better car. It may not be the \"Determining\" factor of

whether you\'d stay with him, but you will probably notice him \"first\", giving him \"the edge\" (pun

    intended). Tis all I\'m saying.

    Good

    Education? Then how about this?

Good education may yield a higher paying job.

    Higher paying Job will allow

    better financial stability.

Good financial stability may equal better car (if not just for looks, then also for
