A review of Fumarie Turque
perfume, on makeupalley
This scent is all about tobacco, specifically the aromatic oriental-heavy blends of pipe
tobacco which are popular with pipe smokers here in England. Sweet and powdery, amazingly rich and complex, suffused
with tones of rum, honey, flowers and spices. Unfortunately, the evocation is so amazingly accurate I can\'t stop
myself associating it with some wiry old man in a flat cap with a whippet under the table, scrutinising the Racing
Post in his habitual corner of the pub while he puffs away. A fabulous and admirable piece of fragrance wizardry,
well up to Lutens\' usual standards, but for me at least, completely unwearable.
