I haven\'t really played around with aphrodisiacs, but I\'d be interested to hear what you have to say about them (for women, of course)...
Ladies,
Have any of you tried the various pills, lotions, and concoctions on the market that are sold to enhance female libido and/or orgasm?
Some creams are applied directly to the clitoris, other products are pills that claim to be \"herbal Viagra for women\", etc.
I\'d appreciate your feedback and have a few ideas to offer.

I was intrigued by the new K-Y product \"warming gel\" but haven\'t tried it yet. I\'ll let you know It was such a small investment I thought I\'d try it out for a lark. (that is such a strange expression as I write it, lark lark lark).
I like to watch \"Talk Sex with Sue\" (Canadian sex therapist) on Oxygen channel and there are plenty of commercials for such \"Viagra like products\" for women. Have often wondered if they\'re good or not. Now you\'ve got me thinking again. thanks, Joe!
Ah Whitehall, I thought you are gonna give us some hints..?
No I have not tried those things myself either. I do get regular spam mail though on this issue, but I´m not very keen to be honest.
First of all I am VERY choosy and careful about what ( or who) gets to touch my skin, let alone genitalia.
Plus, to me the best aphrodisiac is when I´m a) in love. b) I really have the hots for someone - lust , c) I´m just on the mood for some reason... Also I have a VERY, VERY, lively and vivid imagination... ... and so on. In other words I don´t really use any external aids...
I know this doesn´t answer your question at all, I´m sorry.

If you´re interested though one of the websites I know of for stimulants and other things is : www.thesedrugs.com
I\'m actually an aphrodisiac for women
yeah course you are - any sexy, shaggable man is an aphrodisiac for us
Having said that I´ve been an aphrodisiac to a few women to apparently...- compliment or what?!?!
I\'ll do a long post this weekend telling you all sorts of tricks to get more bang from your buck.
But I do expect feedback!

CJ, that\'s *definitely* a compliment!!
\"Buck\" as in \"Buckeroo\" - although I don\'t see why they wouldn\'t work girl-on-girl.
Okay, what´s `Buckeroo`?
remember I´m a euro girl

Your man. \"Buckeroo\" brings cowboys to mind for me...
I love the look of a cowboy
Oh, ME TOO. God, they can be sexy! Nice straw cowboy hat, worn and faded jeans (with the top button undone), no shirt to show off the chiselled abs... *THAT* is the way to appreciate a cowboy!
Yeah, I think I watched too many Western movies when I was a little girl that kind of thing stays with you somehow
Well, I guess I\'m lucky I live in Texas. It\'s not such a stretch to find guys like that here. And am I EVER glad for that too!
Are you a fan of the Dallas Cowboys?

No sir. Can\'t stand football (the American kind). Too much posturing and \"I\'m more macho that you\" going on there. Plus, they just get paid WAY too much just to play a sport and it irritates me. I can watch Aggie football (although it hasn\'t really been worth watching the past couple of years), especially *AT* the games, b/c of the spirit and participation of the crowd, but that\'s it. OK, there are three, maybe four, different neural mechanisms involved in female sexual behavior and one can \"adjust\" each with different compounds.
The first is libido - the self-generated interest in and thinking about sex. This is largely moderated by steroids, probably a complicated interplay of estrogens and androgens. A woman taking androgens like testosterone or methyltestosterone will experience a big jump in her thoughts, interests, and fantasies about sex. She feels the need more.
Ginseng and the like are considered to stimulate steroid synthesis and conversion in the adrenal glands, largely increasing androstenedione production. DHEA is the raw material so many women will see increased libido from supplemental DHEA. One can skip right over to supplemental androstenedione (\"dione\") - you can take dione orally or, more effienctly sublingually. The most powerful way to take it, and with less side effects is insuffilation - snorting. It goes directly in the brain that way so minimizing somatic effects and maximizing speed and intensity. Its more sexually stimulating than coke and a penny\'s worth is a party for two. One small coke spoon in each nostril to start and maybe repeat after 30 minutes or so. don\'t try this more than once a week!
The next mechanism - excitation - later.
So once you locate your man and are poised to touch and play, another mechanism comes into play - actually two. One is excitement and the other is inhibition. Excitement builds on libido and is helped by being healthy and energetic. It\'s opposed, especially with females, by inhibitory mechanisms. We often try to reduce our inhibitions by ingesting ethyl alcohol - \"Rice is nice but liquor\'s quicker.\"
Excitement can also be helped along by stimulants like amphetamines, caffeine, ephedra, and guarana but dulled by depressants like opiates and TOO much alcohol.
Yohimbine also can help women but it works largely on the spinal cord nerves which control contractions and the vaginal muscles. (The clitoris is wired through separate nerves.) I\'d be interested in women\'s experience with yohimbine and yohimbe.
The local mechanics of arousal in the genitals have some simularities with male arousal. L-arginine, choline (DMAE) and vitamin B-5 seem to assist with engorgement and lubrication. The orgasm assistance creams and lotions are mostly based on the idea of forcing l-arginine through the mucus membranes into the clitoris and labia. There seems to be two methods common to doing so. One is using menthol as the \"penetration enhancer\" - this feels cool at first (I\'m told) but as the l-arginine gets into the tissues, they become warmer and engorged as the blood vessels open and hot blood rushes in. Another way is to use sodium chloride (table salt) its warm from the first but the salt can granulate within the cream and feel gritty so don\'t melt it.
Emerita makes something called \"Response Cream\" with menthol (a great company for woman\'s products, BTW) that works great and is of high quality. A patented salt product is \"Sensation\" or \"Arousal\" - liked this too but the lotion base is not as fine as Emerita.
Another product that I love is \"Dermal-XL\" by Dixie Health - a very pleasant base with DHEA, boron, and assorted herbs. The DHEA is converted quickly in the vaginal tissues into estrogens and androgens which \"energize\" the tissues there. This is one of my favorites although it doesn\'t have l-arginine.
Damiana is a Mexican herb that is the active ingredient in \"Whitehall\'s Wetter\'s Better\" cocktail. It has some central nervous system effects but mostly it works on the genitals, making them thermally hotter and more lubricious.
\"Orgasm\" next...
So what\'s going on with orgasm? What is it?
The French would call it petit mal - or little seizure. It is a coordinated nervous effort of your brain, your spinal cord and your local nerves.
One can prime the local nerves with the lotions mentioned in Part 2 - the l-arginine supplies the chemical messenger between the tissues and the nerves. It also plumps up your clitoris making the nerves more coupled to the friction and pressures of lovemaking.
Yohimbine works on your spine and can make the contractions of orgasm more energetic and hence more pleasurably overwhelming. You may have noticed that good sex is not just a local sensation but can be enhanced by the involvement of the large muscles of your back, thighs, and abdomen.
The real action takes place in the brain. Dopamine is the main neurotransmitter involved. One of the best drugs for unleasing a dopamine storm during seex is apomorphine. This stuff has recently been offered in Europe as a potency drug competing with Viagra. However, I\'ve been using it for 4 or 5 years and I\'ve found that women are the real benficiaries of the stuff (OK for guys too.) It releases that \"red mist\" of lust in the brain. In the States you can get a doctor to write a script for it at a compounding pharmacy and made to order.
Most dopamine drugs enhance sex. Just priming your nervous system with the precursor to dopamine will the levels - l-phenylanaline, one gram on an empty stomach can make a difference. Even better is to add deprenyl, 3 or 4 mg. This increases dopamine and other stimulatory neurotransmitters to good effect. I\'ve noticed that I get more emotional overall from taking it - that\'s both good and bad, in my case.
Androstenedione mentioned in Part 1 also aids orgasm by flooding the brain with estrogens and androgens which in turn help release dopamine at the right time. Every women I\'ve given this stuff to absolutely LOVES it.
next - love
So what\'s love? It\'s the response to oxytocin, a neuropeptide in the brain. It\'s released during orgasm, during stretching of the vagina (as in childbirth), and with nipple stimulation, amongst other actions. Its the bonding hormone - bounds a woman with her lover, her child, her pushup bra.
Oxytocin and endorphins work together to cause addiction to a person and their affection. One remembers and bonds with their pheromonal signature so that someone else won\'t substitute.
As someone said, \"You\'ll love the chump you sleep with.\"
Given our lifestyles these days, a big question is how do we mend a broken heart? How can we help get over someone to whom we\'ve developed and oxytocin addiction? I looked into this the last time my heart was broken - I was aghast at the physical changes that the withdrawal produced in me - lost weight, couldn\'t sleep, etc.....
I haven\'t had the opportunity to try this yet but the theory is sound - vasopressin. Oxytocin is balanced in the brain by another neuropeptide called vasopressin. It\'s been used as a smart drug since it helps in memory formation and, surprisingly, helps curb bedwetting. It induces \"reasoning\" over the emotions. Guys get a self-dose the morning after a night with a girl - they start thinking \"Don\'t let me get trapped!\"
Vasopressin is available in little spray bottles for about $30.
Quite interesting Whitehall.
So, to sum things up, what things can a girl/woman take/apply to get in the mood and in what order? What is the most important?
Wow, that\'s a lot of information! Thanks for taking the time to write that. How safe is supplemental androstenedione, specifically when snorted (side effects, etc), and where can you purchase it? Also, is it possible to get apomorphine without a prescription?
Whitehall,
Sorry, can\'t help you out here - I am ALWAYS ready so have never needed an aphrodisiac, etc. My problem is finding a way to get the men in my life ready and raring to go...hence the need for -mones. I also never have any problems with orgasms, so never tried that stuff either. Sorry! But if you know of a way to make my man want me several times a day, BRING IT ON! (Remember, we\'ve been together for about 10 years) -Ginger
God, I wish *my* libido was that active.
Damiana is the most potent thing I ever used...do keep in mind that I am oversexed to begin with. Damiana coupled with the mones makes me uncontrollable.
