I used to work for companies where the women\'s magazines were required reading. I remember about 5 years ago Cosmopolitan sent a young female reporter to one of those superstore bookstores in Manhattan. I know that the girl in my high school who admitted to turning a lot of tricks wound up as a housewife. And why shouldn\'t she have? I kind of lurked on this topic, figuring that everything which could be said probably would be. To get around to answering the original question, need they be mutually exclusive? I used to think I fell for a certain \'type\' of woman, but age has taught me it\'s a certain behavior that gets me.

If a girl looks me in the eye and smiles, seems interested in what I have to say and asks me questions, and gives some indication she finds me attractive (it can be very subtle), them I am invariably fired up. If she touches me even in the most casual \'innocent\' way during our conversation, I notice and am encouraged.

I don\'t think aggressiveness and desperation are the same at all. To some extent any signal to the opposite sex is bold and self-assured - \'aggressive\' if you will. Whether those signals are in a traditional masculine-feminne model or not is a matter of preference, and not what I meant by \'desperate\'.

\'Desperate\' to me is the neediness, lack of self-possession, unwillingness to back away when it\'s over - the classic \'stalker\' type. That\'s aggressiveness borne out of neediness and desperation, not self-assurance.
