Default A strange language

I wonder about a lot of things in the English language that sound strange to dutch/german ears.

    Examples:

\"Married w/3 daughters\" or \"Happily married with two kids (boys 7 and 3).\" LOL, that sounds like you are married with your kids.

\"The Summit in the Azores\" How on earth can you be IN an island?? Maybe if you are in a cave or a mine or something? In our language one cannot be inside an island, you can only be ON an island.

And can a hand that rocks a cradle be able to KICK a bucket?

The best that it can do is lift it.

I posted some 3 months ago something about the English Language being funny sometimes.

The expression is \"married to,\" rather than \"married with.\" So \"married with 3 kids\" would not confuse any native speaker of English. ...

We say \"married with\", so that is where the confusion comes from ...
