those ships ought not to be allowed into any port nor any resupply allowed untill they agree to UN inspectors.

That is a very believable scenerio, but why doesn\'t CNN report that? Bush and co. would love to have that kind of story break. Why aren\'t they shouting it from the rooftops if they know that to be the case?

So far, the behavior of the ships is merely suspicious with some minor infractions of navigation protocols.

After the Spainards boarded the North Korean ship, we\'ve become a bit more hesitiant.

Still, one would expect a broader coverage. Maybe it will come when the US government is ready.

I saw the story on NBC(?-CBS?-one of those), and they said that the government was worried that if they attempted to board, the ships would be skuttled causing environmental harm.

Some more info. I came across, this is pretty scary if it turns out to be true:

Sorry to keep bumping this, I found this to be interesting:
http://www.warriorsfortruth.com/weapons-mass-destruction.html
<excerpt from above link below>
But chief inspector Hans Blix reported to Security Council members that Iraq had failed to account for 1,000 tons of chemical agent, 6,500 chemical bombs, 25,000 liters of anthrax, 38,000 liters of botulinum toxin, 500 tons of sarin, mustard gas and VX nerve agent and 380 rocket engines useful in the delivery of biological and chemical agents.

\"One must not jump to the conclusion that they exist. However, that possibility is also not excluded,\" he said.

Fortunately they are only on \"cargo\" ships so the possibility of these substances being utilized & fired on targets are unlikely IMO.
