Default FYC-2: The Art & Science of Perfumery

    visit-red-300x50PNG
Pretty darn good site (from Les French, naturellement) for those of you anxious to impress with a knowledge of perfumery approaching the esoteric: http://www.osmoz.com/encyclo/matieres.asp

Of more value: Includes a whimsical self-admin quiz to \"... find out the olfactive family of perfumes that suit you best\":

\"At once energetic, sensuous, strong and gentle, you let your senses guide you.

Your self-confidence and impulsiveness encourage encounters.

You elegance and style are revealed by your perfume, which brings out your somewhat provocative personality.

You like oriental fragrances and the smell of spices, tobacco, sensuous woods and animalic notes.

As you purposefully wear fragrances with character, you sweep others along in the trail of your fragrance, which leads toward great journeys.\"

Interesting and not far from the thruth.

Exit - there\'s not one bad perfume on that site, as far as I can tell, and I checked it out pretty thoroughly. Did you look at the Orientals? They\'re organized further into subgroups. ... I came up a floral (surprise, surprise) but when I looked into the subgroups of florals, found all my old favorites in the \"greens\" section and a couple in the \"aldehydes.\" I bet you\'ll find your faves in one or another subgroups. I\'m thinking if you wanted something a little different from what you normally wear, probably any pick from one of those subgroups would please you. Good information to have next time you go scent shopping. I\'ve never seen them broken down that precisely.
