Default What are pheromones made of?

visit-red-300x50PNG
Can anybody tell me exactly what a pheromone is made up of.

I\'ve read that pheromones can last a very long time on your skin - sometimes days

So, I\'m wondering, is a phermone a chemical or an organism or what.

Just wondering

Chemical. Pheros are steriod hormones that naturally occur in your body.

I think it is a chemical formula.

But if I am not forget (but I cannot find where it is now) somebody say that phero maybe made from human sweat and then process it using chemical reaction.
Or other info which I did not know it is true or not (maybe NOT true) it is from the urine and process it using Chemical reaction.

I believe they are steroid hormones secreted at certain glands on the body, primarily in the armpits and crotch.

Basically, there fairly large organic molecules, in the steroid class. some of them are ( or at least are similar too) chemicals which are also in the conversion pathways from cholesterol to steroid hormones like testosterone and oestrogen.

( Bacteria on the skin can break them down , turning them from useful , attractive smelling signals to stinky reasons for deoderant )

They are a class of compound called androgens. Simple androgenic substances perfectly legal in most countries such as USA australia European countries and other western countries.

Unlike normal steroids (anabolic) they have no negative side effects. You can buy the internal form in health food stores and its in a lot of foods that is DHEA dehydroandrosterone. So it is pretty widespread but not well known.

Pheromones are the same in humans as they are in cats and dogs when they are on heat that is how they sexually attract the same process applies in humans hope this helps you out. Allen

DD out.

ANd yes they can last up to a week on clothing and several days on skin. Best way to remove or keep to low levels is to wash or use deordorant.

Ways to increase natural production simple enough sweat more = exercise more and eat healthy and drink plenty of water.
