    Is that

realism or pessimism? In this case I see little difference.

Things are going to get a little better,

economically speaking, no matter who wins. But the overall picture is pretty bleak.

Why do I keep remembering a

song from the 60s: Eve of Destruction?

Remember that I apparently am running for president. Although I've never

campaigned and have no promises to make, vote for Belgareth!

The economy is going to rebound

to some degree. The less interference and burden placed on it the more it will rebound. However, the entire world's

economy is part of the picture. That means it will take longer.

While there are many parts, fuel prices have

played a major role in the collapse. Stupid mortgage practices also played a big part. Both of those are bottoming

out but people still have to live someplace and have to have fuel to get there as well as groceries to market and

such things. It may take a while, the actual collapse has been quite a few years in the coming, but things will

improve somewhat. I still expect a serious crash coming and have doubts about the survival of the US in it's

    current form.

    The market is rallying this

morning but, like you Bel, feel the big crash is yet to come, I figure it won't be long in coming too.

That's what's been coming to mind today, for some reason.
