    Question Rhinoplasty and phermones.

    visit-red-300x50PNG
    I have

been seriously considering rhinoplasty these past few weeks after wanting it for afew years. If its going to destroy

my ability to pick up on phermones then that will probly be a deal breaker for me. So what is the general consensus

    with that?

There was some talk about that

here a couple years ago and a more recent debate about it. You might want to do a search of the forum.

    However,

since there seems to be little belief that the VNO is the primary pheromone sensing organ it shouldn't really have

an impact on you. Nobody is completely sure yet but that seems to be the way the science is leaning.

    I personally would ask the

surgeon if it were possible to spare my VNO.

Research does not yet support the hard-line "VNO does not exist"

    position.

If the surgeon didn't know what I was talking about I'd find another.

    Then again I'm funny

    that way.

    Arousing, I written about this

in the past on this forum, what I found interesting is that pheromones worked on women who have had a rhinoplasty,

and these days having a nose job is as common as getting your wisdom teeth out, you would want your pheromones to

work on girls who have had this procedure otherwise a great % of women would be cut out of the

    equation.

drsmellthis, I didnt come across one nose and throat specialist that even knew about the VNO, and I

    did consult with many.

If it can hurt your sense of smell it may hurt your phero sensing

    abilities too.

Ask your dr. I would not do anything that would hurt my sense of smell anyway because I love food

    too much.

I came across one. I mentioned pheromones to him, told him they really worked.

He was aware of the VNO actually.

Hi, I am a woman and have had

a nose job. I actually had it done when I was 13 to correct some breathing problems. I also had a little cosmetic

work done during the surgery as well. Since then I have not had any smelling problems. In fact, my sense of smell

is very strong as I tend to smell things that other people don't lol. I am not sure if this is attributed to

having rhinoplasty or if I have always been this way.

Of course you guys are talking

about VNO so I doubt my last post was very helpful.
