It's neither but the

government is and has been a corrupt force for many years. The people are much like people anywhere in the world.

Most are good, simply trying to live, with a few bad ones mixed in.

Simple fact is, without the USA

we would all be speaking German and Japanese by default and lack the freedom we have today, I think most countries

in the world recognise this simple historical fact, and the very big sacrifice the US gave to the world some 60 yrs

ago, and the US contribution to civilization is without a doubt the most important in the last 50 years at least.

There are far more "evil" countries on earth then the USA, that are oppressive, it just happens that because the USA

is the super power, (nothing will rival it within the next 20-30 yrs) anything it does is seen with a critical eye

by most countries.

Europeans and the UN tend to critique US policy, especially foriegn policy, but in the

end better the devil you know, than the devil you dont know.
