A man flying
in a hot air balloon realizes that he is lost. He spots a person on the ground, reduces his altitude, and
shouts:
"Hey! Can you tell me where I am?"
The man below replies:
"Yes, as a matter of fact I can.
You are in a hot air balloon floating in the sky."
The balloonist says:
"Hmmm... you must be a spiritual
teacher of some sort."
"Why do you say that?" replies the man.
"Well," says the balloonist, "what you
told me is true enough, but it's of no use at all."
The man below says, "Well then, you must be a spiritual
seeker."
"I guess I am" replies the balloonist, "but how did you know?"
"Well," says the man, "you
don't know where you are, or where you're going, but you expect me to be able to help you. You're in the same
position you were in before we met, but now somehow it's my fault."

To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.
