Default Stargate Atlantis Season 3 Episode 3, mones mania

    visit-red-300x50PNG
I just saw episode 3 of Stargate Atlantis for season 3.

Anybody esle watch it. Apparently it is a

episode dedicated to the effects of a "phermone". So funny. You gotta see it, I wish we could mix a killer mone

combo liek the one in the episode.

    Haven't seen it, but heard

about it. Actually, if you're wearing mones and want to have women hang around long enough to be affected by them,

you could do worse than asking them how they do their hair.

I think I'll use that opening!

Hah I thought I was the only

person who saw that. I mentioned this on another forum and no one replied. I'll come back from the dead to discuss

    it here lol.

Wouldn't it be great if there really was a mix that worked that well? I wonder what he was

drinking to boost his mones like that? DHEA?

Pheromones were actually mentioned in an older episode of Stargate

SG-1, when they were used by a female antagonist influence all the men on a military base and take it over.

    The

primary difference between the two episodes is that in the older one (made about 5 years back), pheromones were

viewed as being strictly sexual - the female antagonist used pheromones to seduce all the men. In the more

recent episode of Stargate Atlantis, the male antagonist used pheromones to win the admiration of both them men and

the women around him. The women were sexually attracted to him, but the men were also drawn to him in a non-sexual

manner. The effects seen this episode seemed like that of a massive NOL OD. Everyone was in excessively high

    spirits.

Anyway, based on the distinction between the two episodes, theres a clear indication that the

mainstream perception of pheromones has changed over the years...at least to some extent. No longer are pheromones

viewed as having a strictly sexual function, there's an acknowledgement of their effects in influencing perception

in a casual, non-sexual sense as well.

There was a StarTrek episode with

shapely blue skinned female aliens. Apparently they did a little dance and gained control of men with powerful

pheromones and enslaved them. Female crew members got headaches! Capt Archer and his chief engineer were gettin'

pussy whipped and fast. Eventually the aliens were locked in an airtight brig and beammed back to their ship. I

guess I don't spin a good yarn but that blue skin was enticing...

Gegogi - if it is female I

think you find it enticing. Good news is that you don't descriminate "on the basis of ....".

    Another episode "The

Perfect Mate" featured an empath whose pheromones overpowered (possibly) even Picard. "how could you resist her?"

His response was "Good bye, ambassador." Also, Whorf and his potential mate were featured "smelling" each other's

hands and arms as part of their mating process in another episode. I've got selected clips like this from the mid

1990's till I got tired of collecting them in the early 2000's. The best ever is from the movie Porky's. But

there was even an episode of LA Law that focussed on pheromones and sexual orientation--one of the male characters

wore the pheromone that attracted men.

    "Beach Fever", starring the

inimitable Kaelo Kalin, was the cheesiest pheromone movie ever made. I loved the opening scene where the kid who

discovered the pheromones invited the french maid dressed hookers into his basement.

    My favorite pheromone

based tv eppie was an episode of "Superboy". When the pheromone user drank the potion, he became an unfortunate

    looking, totally unkempt "human pheromone".

I loved the scene where Lana Lang drilled the user about his

former self's wherabouts. She took a deep whiff, looked like she was getting a migraine and then became instantly

    love-struck.

    Is

this likely to be available at the local video store?

Missed this one, too. Do you recall the year that this

    aired?

    Thanks,

posts from you that are so serious and straight to the point, scientific and otherwise, good to see a great

scientist is a movie buff too!

I love Star Trek by the way. Actually anything in that genre, watch "killer

clowns from out of space" I think there may be a pheromone element somewhere in there, im not 100% sure, just

remember scents or something, its extremely b-grade film

As I recall, until recently, I had a social life. Or maybe it was a

    dream.

to check out a video from the local rental firm.

    Pheromones mentioned on a recent

    episode of Lucky Louie.

    You can probably find Beach

Fever in the bargain bin of your local video store.

As for The Adventures of Superboy, the episode titled

"Johnny Casonova and the Secret Serum" aired on 5-12-90 during the second season. Stacey Hiaduk played Lana Lang.

    Watched the Stargate:Atlantis

pheromone eppie on Youtube. While it was a decent episode, there should have been a transition scene that showed a

person becoming immediately affected by the pheromones.

Usually, there's a scene in these types of eppies

where a pheromone inhaler looks all uninterested and/or disdainful of the pheromone wearer and is shown being

    gradually overwhelmed by the mones.

On this eppie, the subjects were shown to be unintersted and later

shown to be love-struck. There was no transition scene. I love those transition scenes!
