Awesome bruce. are there still
prizes?
To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one's family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one's own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him.

HEY! Someone call the police!
Somebody stole Bruce's Pool Room from the Arcade!
What to do? What to do? Oooooooh what
to do!?
Never argue with ignorant people! They pull you down to THEIR level, and then they BEAT YOU with experience. Who said that!? I don't know, but tis gold I tell'ya!!
There are gobs of games we can add.
Just gotta figure out how to go about that. Also, lots of other cool "hacks" that can be added to the forum.
Anyone interested in exploring that world, check out
http://vbulletin.org
When checking out games for
this arcade, make sure you are in the thread for the NEW version of the arcade (works with the 3.5 version of
vbulletin)
I forget how we did prizes before. Was it tied in with the forum "store"? I don't think we will
revive the store, but we could have some sort of tournament, say every Friday. Top scorers would get a gift
certificate or something.

The points is a tough one. They
caused a lot of problems for the moderators. Still possible though. I'll run it by the posse.

any news update?
Well, the general consensus is
that:
A. The point system was a pain in the butt to moderate due to various types of cheating. (maybe other mods
can elaborate)
B. There wasn't really much worthwhile to buy with the points other than discount coupons, and
(see A) those were causing problems.
C. However, letting the system die must be disappointing for forlks who
worked hard posting legitimately and accumulated a lot of points, and therefore something probably ought to be done
with those points.
D. That's as far as we got I think, or? (mods help me out here)

As much as I liked getting the
discount coupon, I've made more than one purchase since the points coupon vanished and I'm doing just fine. You
do offer other discounts. That's good enough for me, especially when they line up with my buying times.
Being able to "buy" forum bling with
points was sorta attactive and interesting, but I'm not sure I would personally have done much more than altered
the text style of my name...
I could see where "cheating" could have come into play by posting many many short
and really of little value posts/threads just to gain points.
Maybe you could just "cash in" whatever old points
there are/were at a penny apiece (or 1/10th or ???) or something against L-S purchases just to clear em out, or find
a way to allow users to "cash in" the points by "buying" a moderator-done alteration to name text or wahtever if
that can still be done (like in old "forum store").
Or we can just go to our graves with the satisfaction that
at one time in our glorious youth (?) we coulda been a contender...
Well, maybe not...
The opposite of love isn't hate.
It's apathy.
i agree with what rbt said,
theres was a certain feeling, kinda of going to the arcade. how you would feel if you won something
I might make it so you have to have
a certain post count to play the arcade. That is something I can do without reinstalling the points system.
