    Question I'm searched out!

    visit-red-300x50PNG
    Did anyone ever

come up with a proven way to clean the writing off the gel packs?

    It's okay to blast me

about the doing a search, I did , but give me the answer, too, if someone has a tried-tested-and proven

    method, pleasee.

    Thank yous!

    I remember a discussion on

this topic. However, instead of getting the writing off, why don't you just go over it with a permanent marker or

put masking tape over it? The permanent marker idea sounds simple enough.

I almost forgot to whom I'm

talking...it's Mobes...you could just put some fun stickers on them! You seem like the kind of person who might

    like that idea.

    I haven't tried it,

but since the gel itself seems to smear the ink on the gelpacks, I would think that alcohol might do the trick.

Try lighter fluid. It's a good solvent that will

take permenent marker off. Do a patch test first to see if it melts the plastic but I doubt it will.

    Red face

I tried the alcohol, but no

luck. Could it have been because it was the green rubbing alcohol?

    Now you've got

me curious. Am going to have to start rubbing stuff on my gel packs and see what works...

ALSO: in terms of "cleaning power," you want to use what's called 91% isopropyl alcohol, NOT "rubbing alcohol."

It's available at your local drug store/pharmacy usually on a shelf not too far from the "rubbing" variety. It will

cost you a little more. I've used it a lot for cleaning stuff (like ink and adhesive tape/label residue eg price

stickers on glassware), and it's generally okay to use on many surfaces, but test to be sure. 91% is usually sold

    as a disinfectant.

    For the sake of

science, I just tried some acetone (nail polish remover) and a Q-Tip. It took the ink off very well, though a rag

would be more efficient. The Q-Tip head got dirty too fast to do the whole pack. There is an imprint left in the

package where the ink was, which may or may not still be readable. I only did part of the back of one of my SOE

packs. The imprint of the larger printing on the front of the pack will be more noticable.

    What is your

purpose for removing the ink and what print on the package do you desire to

    remove?

    I

also am interested in removing the print. My desire is to be a distributor of pheromones to a local beauty salon.

I am only looking to Remove the Love Scent name and web address. I want customer loyalty. I don’t want them to

short circuit the system and buy directly from Bruce. This is the reason for my query.

I wish I could get them printed with my biz name and my address on

    them.

I'm sure you would need to talk to Bruce about that.

Here are the results of a quick test

with stuff I had lying around:

    1. 91% isopropyl alcohol (about $1.25 at local drug store for 16oz)
    2. Denatured

alcohol solvent (usually quart cans from hardware store)
    3. "Citrus" cleaner (orange) [specific brand was Xenit in

    spray can]

Results were the same in all cases. Removes about 95% of the print, but as mentioned above by

InternationalPlayboy, there is still a "ghost" image left behind. Did not try acetone, which usually removes

*everything* (sometimes too much). SOME nail-polish removers still have acetone so someone could check that out (not

all do nowadays. "acetone free."), or use the straight stuff you can buy at hardware store.

    If you are looking

to resell, your only practical option may be to contract with LS to see if a custom print job could be run ($$$$$

probably), or find a creative way to cover the info. A marker may be the only "cheap" way (cut a stencil out of

paper so you have square edges) and/or line out with marker and cover with your own label (for sake of

    appearance).
