Banshee basic project - Mones and perfumery

First, sorry for my bad English!





I found “Love Scent” site and started to read, 2

months ago. Since then I read a lot, mostly in this forum. I decided to try pheromones, essential oils and some

basic perfume making.
I like to read DrSmellThis threads.


I have more doubts about perfumery then pheromones. Pherolibrary.com and this forum have answers for much of my

questions about mones.

I’m Banshee!
I will start to say what I’m doing, what I pretend to do and why!

free to comment, because I’m a newbie and I need all the help. Plus, I can’t make a lot of mistakes (trying) because

I don’t have lots of cash.

30 years old
1,68 m
85 Kg
Caucasian, brown eyes and brown hair
Portugal

(sorry, I use metric system)

I sweat a lot, and often I take 2 baths a day. I’m afraid to have bad results with

mones because of that.
I’m a friendly guy, not shy, very easy communicator, sociable, but not a “star” guy. But I

can, and I know how to, act like a “star” guy when I need to, leading groups, business or so. But, I’m not as

successful with women as I want to be.


Till now I bought:

-Beginner

Special (and the free samples)


-Distilled water
-

Ethanol (96%)
-Cornstarch, talc and baking soda (to make powder deodorant)


-2 EOs in local shops (Ylang Ylang and White musk) just to see how they look like




-20 Disposable Pipettes ( 3ml and 1 ml)
-

6 Amber glass bottle with normal caps. (different sizes)
-3

Amber glass bottle with Eye Dropper caps
-1 glass Measuring beaker (100 ml with 10

ml graduations)
-1 small glass Funnel
-1 glass

Graduated Cylinder with base and cap (50 ml, 5ml graduations)
-1 glass rod


-1 mini pocket atomizer (glass)

I pretend to buy:



-Alter Ego
-

W.A.G.G. (or

W.A.G.G. -N)
-

(Pheros maybe, but later)


-Jojoba Oil (to make

perfume oil)
-Grapefruit Seed Extract (to make liquid deodorant)
-

Tincture of Benzoin(to use as a fixative in perfume, base ethanol)
-

2 different Fragrance

Oils (Designer Type

Fragrances – maybe Dolce & Gabbana and Coolwater or

Egoiste

Platinum )
-Liquid soap or bath gel Unscented – to add the

Fragrance Oils
-

1 exfoliating loofah sponge
-2 roll-on Bottles - glass (to apply

perfume oil)
-2 or 3 E0s (maybe Bergamot, Sandalwood, Lavender or a good Musk) – to

make some experimental basic mixes

I have to do this buys slowly, because it’s expensive

for me. Most of the items I can’t find in Portugal, so I have to buy in net shops.

Now, I need some input of

you guys, to feel more confident to buy these products. Some ideas, thoughts, methods, good places to buy, recipes,

whatever…

What I’m doing wrong? Why?

I pretend to use Tincture of Benzoin as

a fixative for perfume. There are other or better products?

I pretend to use Antiseptic

Soap, Grapefruit Seed Extract and Loofah Sponge to remove Mones from the skin (I’m afraid of Od’s, buildup and

such). It’s the right thing to do?

Jojoba oil with Fragrance Oils to make perfume oils work well?

Alter ego is a good choice for 30

year old and newbie - has 3 pheromones and should prove effective.

At least not for me!

You got a nice selection of bottles etc but maybe you should intend, not pretend

, to buy the chemistry set as it seems like something that would be right up your ally...heh

It would allow

you to customize your mixes better due to the fact products like alter ego and wagg etc are combinations of other

pheromons. They are fantastic but seeing as you are going into the nitty gritty then a chem. set might be a good

purchase.

Welcome to

the forum!

You have a lot of equipment for perfumery but only one EO. "White musk" is a synthetic and not an

EO.

My advice is to click into the women's forum and read the "perfuming basics" thread. Then post questions

about perfumery in there (which oils to get, etc), and I'll be happy to help you.

with your pheromone purchases.

Yes, I know. In the store they

called the "White musk" an aromatic oil. But I can use it to make mixes with EOs, can't I?

About the Chem Set advice... well, I don't know what

is better for me yet. I think it's better to use first the standard products to help me find what kind of product

or mones works best with me.

About the Tincture of Benzoin, anybody knows something to replace that as a

fixative in perfume?
My main problem is:
I want to restrict my shoppping to 1 or 2 sites. If I buy everything in

diferrent net shops I will pay Product 1+ 25€ for shipping, Product 2 + 25€ for shipping, P3 + 25€, ....
And the

sites I pretend to use to buy Jojoba, EOs and Shower Gel don't have Tincture of Benzoin. So, if you know something

to replace it, it will be very helpfull.

Maybe jumping right into making

perfumes isn't the best idea, it is an expensive venture.

I think you should have bought Sandalwood EO first,

it's very easy to use and smells good without mixing with other EOs.
