hell does that mean

Tanning makes just about anyone look better if it's done right. That should qualify it as an aphrodesiac IMHO.

Tan skin is attractive because

sunlight increases Vitamin D production, which increases testosterone levels. Peter Frost's work (look on PubMed)

showed that women prefer men with darker skin--just as a lioness prefers a lion with a darker mane. Both are visual

signs of higher testosterone, and thus better reproductive fitness. But the visual response is conditioned by

olfactory cues that alter hormone levels in women--like LH and

estrogen.
