Default interesting articles, A1 and PH-15

visit-red-300x50PNG

Here is a new (June

2004) article giving support for androstadienone being a real human pheromone.
Says it increases brain

activity in areas that are used for social cognition rather than for smelling. Difficult reading though, I don\'t

understand most of it.

Also found this, from 2001

about using pheromones to wake people up during house fires.
This one just seems wierd. I never thought FEMA

would be the government agency doing pheromone research. Also, this study uses PH-15 (don\'t know what it really

is) wakes people up, while Pherin Pharmaceuticals says indications are \"somnolence and decreased cognitive

performance\"

Pherin (run by David Berliner) has several vomeropherins being tested for purposes other than

getting chicks. They\'re also going through the FDA and doing tests like they\'re drugs. Looks

interesting.

Sorry if I bored you guys with this, I know I\'m more interested in reading hit stories than

science articles. But I just don\'t have many stories worth reading. Last week I put a dab of NPA on my forehead

before going to work. I have a stressful fast-food job, so I\'m usually pretty pissed off and irritable at work.

One of the girls told someone else I was \"scary\" and \"intimidating\". At least I know something not to do

now......

Einstein,
the first link is broken.

reagrding the use of pheromones by the fire service, I can\'t really see

it happenning. But the report is very interesting nevertheless.

einstein,

I immediately thought of

this post.
I remember seeing similar incidents posted elsewhere too, with women asking,

\"Have we met?\", or \"Don\'t I know you?\" when exposed to A-1. Looks like even WITHOUT the expensive

equipment and the zillions of dollars in grant money we\'re still a couple of years ahead of the researchers.
