I know this is a long shot, but just maybe one of you will have the answer! This is the first pheromone product I ever purchased......like 10-11 years ago. The words on the label are completely gone and I have zero memory of what those words were. It is still about 1/6 full and smells not unlike AE/w.....or perhaps what decade old AE/w might smell like. There is NO musky afterscent that I have noticed (which I DO notice with AE/w).

Does any one have ANY ideas of what this might be? What product it is/was?

Unfortunately those "cobalt blue" type bottles seem to be fairly common. It does bear a resemblence to products from AD, who have used that style bottle and foil label for quite some time. I do recall that almost every one of their products I had had a top that would leave behind a "security ring thing" around the neck that broke off the cap when you first opened the bottle, and I don't see one on this bottle. Also I've never had one of their labels wear that completely. I'd be tempted to say it *isn't* one of theirs.

Some other clues is that it *isn't* a dropper top (rubber bulb) or spray top. Does it have a "reducer" insert in the neck of the bottle?

Do you recall where/how you bought it? Store, internet purchase?

Not much help I know but sometimes it's a process of elimination. (Right Mr. Sherlock Holmes?)

There is no reducer in the bottle, just open top. I bought it online and I remember it was NOT a unisex product and cost was somewhere around $29 or less.

I think at that price point it's not an AD or LS supplied product. Somebody else. Plus based on how many years ago you bought it and from what site... I'm pretty sure both AD and LS have pretty much only sold their products through their own sites, and I don't think those sites have changed that radically in appearance so if neither look familiar (if you visit those sites) then that's another strike against those as a possible source.

If it's a small distributor/supplier (which I suspect) it's also possible they've folded by now and that puts up a blockade to finding the original source.

I'm wondering if there might be a way to "bring out" any of the label text. Or maybe I've been watching too many cop shows where they can figure out anything...

My guess is APC. If we are talking 10/11 years ago, there is not too much else it could be except Primal and there is no mistaking that for AE, so my money is on APC.

My first reaction was APC before I read Bruce's post. It has a silver label & the bottle seems to be the same size in the hand as in the photograph.
It smells a bit like AE.

I like the smell of APC. It has a strangely addictive quality. I think that there must be some musk in there somewhere like the oriental musks.

When I first bought the stuff, I only wore it around my boyfriend at the time. It seemed to maybe work the first time, but not after that. I wrote the product off and wore it randomly over the years just as a perfume. NOW I can look back at many times I was 'probably' wearing it and got like a gazillion hits! Recently I wore it to a party and got hit on so bad by my girlfriends' husbands that decades-long friendships were nearly lost!!!! Poor guys! LOL!!!

I had no idea APC has been around that long....I do remember on the order page there was a pull-down thing to choose whether I wanted the women's or men's formula...

Hmmm... Now that I think about it, if it is about a decade old it could be something like APC. I've never bought it so I'm not familiar with the packaging. They probably wouldn't of had the "security ring" around the cap and the label printing would not have been as durable as more recent ones.

I really should give APC a try...

By the way, the APC people JUST changed the fragrance on the men's. Radical change at that. The small size bottles still have the old familiar fragrance, but the larger bottles are all new and don't smell anything like the old familiar APC fragrance.

Well, I got myself a bottle of APC/w and it does not smell like the old mystery bottle. Bruce, have they possibly changed the scent of the women's formula too? It smells great, btw.....
