View Full Version : NPA and Perfume Oil?

Hi Guys,
I am

usually a lurker at this board, but now I really have to ask a question myself...so here goes...

I hooked up on

one of Bruce\'s Wacky Wednesday offers and purchased - among other things - NPA.

Now I have used TE and

Pheromax before (well I tried SOE as well but really didn\'t like the coverscent so Bruce let me change it) but

never NPA. What I know is that you add this to an existing scent.

What I have understood, you take like 1 part

NPA and 4-5 part of the coverscent.

However, I have lately more and more started to wear perfume *oil* version of

my favourite scent YSL M7 from www.thefragranceshop.com (\"http://www.thefragranceshop.com\") - which I

btw *really* recommends! - instead of the Edt with alcohol in it. I don\'t have this \"cloud\" of overwhelming

scent that can be an effect of applying an Edt, but a more mellow and deeper M7 scent. Really like it.

Would this

be the same with a perfume oil that lacks the alcohol? Could I take 1 drop NPA and mix it with 4 drops of oil

without ODing bigtime?

Would like you opinion guys.

Thanks in advance...

You

should be fine blending NPA w/ your oils just as w/ an EdT, w/ the benefit of a longer release time, if you will.

Make sense? That is, it should extend the effectiveness of your NPA, in theory. The other advantage is that you

could spread your application over a greater surface area on your skin since you are using an oil base

(predominently). Both of these factors should serve you well.

Let us know how it goes for you.

I

will...

Would you say that 1 drop NPA to 5 drops perfume oil is a good combination? Or more like 1:4?

Why not

start w/ a small batch of 5:1 and if that doesn\'t seem as effective, then try 4:1. Personally, I use a 4:1

dilution of NPA, but to each his own...better to begin w/ a lower dose and work your way up, imo. One thing to

consider since you\'re using an oil base is that w/ a cologne/alcohol base, you\'d be using a spray or two that

= about 2.5-3 drops per spray. So be mindful of that when you\'re applying the pheros. Your advantage w/ the oil

base is that you can really spread out your applications over a larger area...and that\'s a good thing for most

ppl.

FWIW, I use

products from the same vendor. Someone (oscar?)posted a link in one of CJ\'s threads on the forum several years

ago. I also like the effects of the product - more subtle, longer lasting. I usually apply the perfume oil in dabs

out of the bottle onto my chest, and smear it in with my wrists. Then I just dab my mix on top of that. Since NPA

(and rone and a1, which I also use) is alcohol based, it tends to settle out of the perfume oil. So I keep my

perfume oil intact, put my current mix in an old NPA bottle, and dab it on as desired. Just a personal preference

because I like to switch my smell, and this way I don\'t have to keep several different perfume mixes active, just

one small bottle of my mix and all the scents I want.

Yes, I know this doesn\'t answer your question, but you

may want to consider this method too.
