ok if your SO says the

word marriage sorta in passing, but on a topic that basically has nothing to do with marriage what so even (eg

working out leads to popping in a comment on being married together) is that them feeling the water or something?

when its never been brough up and just sorta push out there like that.... or am i reading way too far into things?

You\'re

reading too far into it. When he shows up with a ring and gets down on one knee is when you need to start reading

things into it.

Seriously. He\'s probably just talking.

thanks, was just a

bit of a shock. never heard that word come out of his mouth in any situation and to have it in a sentence of \"if

we were married\" even in passing was a suprise :P

He said it

that way? That might be different then. The idea has crossed his mind, in any case.

But again, don\'t

read anything else into it until he\'s on one knee with a ring in his hand.

Good advice, SRH. I\'m reminded of Dave Barry\'s guide to guys.

I have\'t seen that. Is it a book or a column? Or a one-liner?

SRH and Apple,

here is the exact Dave Barry passage I was thinking about, in all its sheer brilliance. I hope you will commit it to

memory, my dear Apple (See top of thread after clicking on

link):

He\'s

testing the waters...maybe just for himself if not you. No man ever drops the m-bomb or any commitment-related word

to their SO without taking into consideration that they may actually want something like that one day...one day

being the key word...he won\'t propose to you tomorrow, but he\'s begun to think about it down the road (months,

years, centuries, I cannot say, but it\'s there).

...that being said, the Dave Barry thing is on track. Guys

don\'t get subtlety...you have to hit me in the head for me to get anything...however, I notice that my mind races

faster than that woman\'s when it comes to having a relationship with someone...

lol DST thats a

great bump! but i dont think alot of those things apply to my situation since i was the one who said i wasnt ready

for comitment in the begining and hes the one who asked me for a relationship!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif only when i was ready did we enter into a relationship

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif so im pretty sure he knows hes in a relationship since he asked

for it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I know for

me, I\'d test the waters in that way first. Probably many times over a period of time.
In fact FOR SURE I\'d do

that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif No guy wants to be knocked back.

But, I agree with

SRH, don\'t take it as anything at all until it\'s said. Remember those movies where the couple are at a

restaurant for some big occasion?? And the girl hangs on everything the guy says, waiting fo the proposal and he

says... \"I got the promotion at work!!!!\" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

oh im not waiting,

just trying to see if my observation is nuts or not, trying to improve my people reading and if im way off id like

to know. i know i myself would feel the water out like that too!

bundyburger

I know.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif ...but, maybe if he keeps giving more and more signs you\'ll

starting actually thinking about what your answer may be. Know what I mean?? Preparing yourself for a question you

hadn\'t considered before.

...just rambling. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Be sat in the

corner in a wedding dress when he wakes up one morning... possible smoking, but definately half hidden by

shadow.

No matter what day it is, say: \"Merry Christmas\"

Seperates the wheat from the chaff, that

does.
