View Full Version : Assortment idea-cinnamon oil

Bruce, do

you think it would be possible/viable to produce a cinnamon scented version of the primal oil? Because cinnamon is

one of the most pleasant smells ever and I prefer earthy smells for myself (they go well with my brown and green

clothing:).

Hi

Rakesh,

Thanks for the suggestion.

Coincidentally, we just ran into a bit of a crossroads with those oils and

are wondering what to do. The maker is jacking up the price quite a bit and we are wondering where to go with it.

I\'ve been toying with coming up with a nice line of Love Scent \"fer real\" essential oils, but just haven\'t

come up with anything. Now we are suddenly in a position that we have to make a decision of some sort.

Well at

any rate the musk is a bit too....musky
Cinnamon is a pleasant non-offensive smell, so...:)

cinnamon

and vanilla are said to be love scents... not like the site, but suposedly they affect men subconciously, makes them

more confortable, and more easily fall in love. If i can find where i read the study about this ill post it, theyre

not sure if its because of when theyre kids they connect it to baking and comfort or if its all men and maybe

affects their brains somehow... but either way it does /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

This study was done by Dr. Alan Hirsch. I know that Vanilla is on the list, but I am not

certain about cinnamon.

If you want cinnamon scented anything, just get yourself some cinnamon Essential Oil and

start creating. Never use cinnamon EO\'s directly on your skin. Just mix some in some carrier oil and add your

mones. Presto...your own creation. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Whilst

looking at cinnamon EO\'s, a safer choice for your skin may be to get a little pumpkin pie fragrance oil

(Camden-Gray\'s smells mainly like cinnamon to me) and add your -mones to it.

Pumpkin Pie is on the list and the one from Camden Grey does smell very cinnamony.

I

can attest to that! I had a great cinnamon-vanilla oil that I bought on eBay. I thought it made me smell like a

cookie/ Maybe it did-- all the guys wanted \"a bite.\" <g>

Sad ending-- I spilled the oil, and couln\'t

find THAT particular blend, again.

Sagacious1420

My latest blend has a pronounced cinnamon quality. Actually cinnamon, anise, madarin, vanilla, amber and a hint of

light musk. It smells edible and I\'ve gotten a lot of nice feedback.

SRH-
You might like the one I have

aging right now. Lavender, clary, cypress, sandalwood, vetiver and a deep (almost animal) musk. The clary is quite

prominent while the lavender/cypress give it freshness w/ an earthy vetiver and a masculine musky foundation.

I\'ll probably start wearing it in the spring.

Sexyredhead

That does sound yummy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Where\'d you get the musk?

Sagacious1420
02-10-2004, 10:00 AM
Thanks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It\'s actually an FO made by a local

aromatherapist. She calls it \"Egyptian Musk\" and it really has an animal/savage quality to it. It\'s really

potent for an FO. I can\'t use much of it in a blend. The blend has a few other EOs I didn\'t mention and

while they really don\'t stand out, they help round it out. I wanted to focus on a few main EOs. I had to work at

it, but I was able to get the top and middle notes to persist through to the bottom. At first the top jumps out and

the base lurks in the background. It finishes just the opposite. The clary runs all the way through.
It still

needs some time to come together, but it\'s going well so far. That musk was a bugger though. Threw out my first

batch because the musk totally overpowered it.

I get my sandalwood from the same source.

Thanks. It\'s smells good enough to eat...or so

I\'ve been told. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I had some on the other night and this woman

For

beginners playing with cinnamon, be sure to buy cinnamon leaf EO rather than the bark EO, which is too strong for

the inexperienced. As Elana says, you should dilute even the leaf 10:1. It\'s cheap and lasts forever, so it\'s

no problem to add a drop to whatever you already use. I do think cinnamon is better when combined with another scent

or three, however. Clove is the most obvious.
