Skyy,
Damn! At 200
bucks a bottle it better be something really good like \"Swiss Le Bleu\"!
I\'ve seen that for @$160/bottle
online, but if you can eliminate the price and RISKS of international shipping it might just be worth coughing up
the extra $40.
Swiss Le Bleu is made in the Val de Travers region of Switzerland by a number of producers who work
in what is basically a co-op, bottling (bootlegging actually) under a common label. It IS still illegal in
Switzerland to my knowledge, but the government has supposedly turned a blind eye (for almost a century) toward the
region since Absinth production has never ceased there since the illegalization somewhere back in the 19-teens.
The only other bottles of Absinth that I would THINK of paying that high a price for would be the high-tests.
The EU standard for legal Absinth states that it cannot contain more than 10mg/kg of Thujone, the (psycho)active
ingredient that results from the distillation of Wormwood. Some distillers however make 100mg/kg Thujone Absinth
products, presumably for sale outside the EU. The \"King\" brand is one that\'s been around for a while that I
can think of offhand. I\'m sure there are more now.
If I recall correctly, Swiss Le Bleu runs between 60 to
75mg/kg of Thujone.
The stuff that was in the bistros of the late nineteenth century was reputed to run as high
as 250mg/kg. If you could get hold of some of THAT it would definitely be worth $200. But DON\'T pay that kind of
money for the EU legal stuff. Our UK buddies can buy the 10mg/kg stuff in their grocery stores relatively
cheaply.
Tell me what brand you saw for $200 and I\'ll hopefully be able to tell you whether or not it\'s a
rip-off.
If you do an \"All Forums\", \"All Posts\" search on this board for Absinth you\'ll get a bit more
info. (Leave the \"E\" off to get more results.)
Crazy, yes.

Hhhhhmmmm...
It\'s
interesting that absinth.com ostensibly ships from within the U.S.
While there are apparantly no prohibitions on
the possession or consumption of Absinth within the U.S., its manufacture or distribution are both still illegal
here.
The Logan Fils stuff sounds like it might be the genuine article, but I\'m a little suspicious that they
don\'t list a Thujone content or at least a range.
The stuff on that beerliquors site, Absente and La Muse
Verte, are both pastis. Like Herbsaint, modern-day Pernod, Anissette, Sambuca, and Ouzo, they contain no appreciable
quantities of Thujone. Just nice licorice liqueurs.
Thujone also appears in Vermouth (which means Wormwood, in
some language. German maybe?)
Another interesting translation of Wormwood I\'ve heard is the Russian - Chernobyl.

Whoopie.
Make sure you get the
real stuff when you go out to buy absinthe, I´ve come across stuff sold as absinthe but it wasn´t ! It´s trendy
again and some companies like to fuke people over! Real absinthe isn´t cheap but it´s better than any old booze
with green colour mixed in.

anyone aware of side

Wormwood is potent
stuff.
Holmes
Wormwood is the main
ingredient but the other herbs are also in there for a reason. Wormwood/absinthe is causes hallucinations, that´s
what it´s known for and that´s what absinthe is known for /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif So
the `side-efect´if you can cal it that is that you go on a right trip and go round doing some real sh*t
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif - allegedly, I
wouldn´t know of course because I´m a good girl /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Wormwood
is definitely a different high. \"Otherworldly\" comes to mind. My experience was during a quiet evening at home
so wasn\'t roaming the Left Bank with Henry Miller or anything really fun. A passed-out female companion is a
temptation I\'ve learned to ignore.
I can imagine one putting one\'s self into a trippy state with it. I
might play with it some more but it is a bit of a crude high for my taste. Reminds me of dextromorphan (cough
syrup.)
Another questioner asked about side effects. Your tapeworms will hate it - it is a classic antihelmintic
and \"expels worms.\" It also stimulates appetite but in excess will ruin your liver.
Holmes

Yeah,
it\'s often used as an anti-parasitic. But damn, Sweet Annie sho\' is tasty!

Word up
on wormwood!
Wormwood kills just about anything growing in your colon, be it bacteria, fungi, or parasites (a
bit weaker against viral infections, I think). It will even kill off healthy bacteria, like penicillin does. It is
arguably the single strongest whole-herb antimicrobial medicine (definitely way stronger than garlic, for example).
If you have an infestation or overgrowth of anything (e.g., candida), you will get classic \"die-off symptoms,\"
(microorganisms release toxins when they die) with significant doses of wormwood. Die off symptoms can be quite
strong, even somewhat debilitating; and tend to strain your liver. This is in addition to the significant direct
toxicity the wormwood has. I wouldn\'t play with wormwood recreationally for these reasons; and also, because you
might be desperate for a strong, broad-base, nonprescription antibiotic someday; and wormwood might be all you have
left! Would you play with penicillin recreationally?
Strong liver support (milk thistle, tumeric and
artichoke) and probiotic supplements (acidophilus, bifidus bifida, etc.) are therefore strongly recommended for
those who need to use wormwood.
I have consistently heard absinthe is a \"net negative\", unfortunately.
But Oscar knows more than I do about it.

I
can\'t fathom anyone wanting to go near it for recreational purposes (i.e. anything other than sheer necessity).

What\'s to understand?!?!?! Sex with an unconscious person is no fun!!!
Here, I\'ll make it easy on everyone with a little song...
You\'re at the party, at the club
You see the
girl that you\'d love to rub
Goin\' into the back room, you\'re in the mood for love
You follow her back,
she\'s lying on the bed
You can\'t wait until you gonna get some [censored]
But she\'s lying there
motionless instead
Because...
Unconscious women are no fun
Dream time has begun
You\'re not the only

Who\'s been deprived of sex
Because she passed out before you\'re done
Ahh, yes... The timeless
