i can\'t believe i finally got my hands on one! I’ve been drooling over this phone since matrix
reloaded and i ****ing love this phone to death....i just received it this morning in the mail and i\'ve been
messing around with the functions, ring tones, voice commands and wearing out the pop-up ear piece…hehe I read as
many articles and reviews as I could find on the SPH-027N, such as phone scoop or CNET b4 finally deciding to shell
out the insanely expensive cash for this baby. and let me tell u, IT IS worth it…drool… :-P
I remember a
couple of the review articles mentioned that the matrix phone feels like a toy rather than a real phone, till they
pop open the ear piece and see the huge and crystal clear lcd screen. and that the auto slide feature is kind of
wobbly and feels like it might break. I have to totally disagree, I have a feeling the people who wrote those
reviews were describing the prop toy phone that came with the matrix press kits that’s floating all over ebay. The
matrix phone in my hands feels very tight and extremely well made. It does NOT feel like a toy AT ALL. The pop up
ear piece with the intenna is very sturdy and precisely engineered. All the keypads lights up green matrix style
when the screen is exposed and u get to have ur pick of screen savers between animatrix and reloaded. (sadly no
Revolution pics or ringtones) and the SPH-027N is actually a bit on the heavy side, unlike the aluminum nokia
phones. Probably due to the large lcd screen and the battery and the metal intenna. On the top of the popup is the
serial batch number. Mine is 466 out of the 10,000. I read somewhere batch 00001 was auctioned off on ebay for
like $2500 or something…. Don’t know if it’s true or not. But a matrix phone won’t go for any less than a $1000 as
of now IMO.
My biggest beef with my beloved Samsung matrix phone though is that it’s cdma and not tdma or
gsm, which means no sim cards and I can’t switch phones when I feel like it. This is a precious collectors item and
I shouldn’t be using it on a daily basis. it’s bound to get scratched or dinged, given enough time. and im not sure
if it can even be unlocked like the other phones cuz my contract with cingular isn’t finished yet and the matrix
phone only works with sprint pcs. i know this phone hasn\'t been released in UK or europe but maybe there\'s
someone who is familiar enough with the cell phone industry that can help me out? I’d really like to learn how to
unlock it.
well anyways, here r some pics for ur enjoyment (and me showing off my kickass phone hehe)

batch 00466!
Actually, I was able to get my hands on the matrix phone purely by
blind dumb luck. Im sure this sounds a little far-fetched but the story’s too amazing to pass up. I actually
bought this phone brand-new-factory-sealed-in-box from a seller on ebay named Alen Kevorkian…the last name sounded a
little familiar to me, till he mentioned that he’s the brother of Melina Kevorkian, co. producer of the
matrix/revisited/reloaded, Gothika, Cradle to the grave, Exit wounds…etc. of course I have no way of proving either
way. But it’s just a pretty unbelievable and coincidental anecdote I can brag to my gf and friends about. Hehe :-P
I’ll have to go to sprint and see if they will let me switch between 2 phones…highly unlikely but fingers
crossed anyways.
feel free to drool over the pictures..hehehehe (evil grin)
