View Full Version : A Drug for More and Easier Female Orgasms
Whitehall
12-21-2003, 09:02 PM
Been doing some research on female orgasms. It seems the Prozac-like drugs (SSRIs) are almost certain
to make it more difficult for men and women to achieve orgasm. The reason is too much serotoin.
One way that
pdocs deal with that complaint is to prescribe an antihistamine called Periactin. It is used for hives, allergies,
etc but has the effect of rapidly depleting the serotoin levels in the nervous system. The lower serotoin lowers
the inhibititory restraints on orgasm. Periactin also makes one drowsy.
I suspect that it would be useful
for you women who have trouble coming to orgasm or who take too long. For \"normal\" men, it would probably lead
to premature ejaculation.
Anyone of you ladies ever tried it or have any in your medicine cabinets?

Just yesterday a friend told me Claritin helps male sexual functioning. I haven\'t personally looked
into it.

takes `too long´ to get an orgasm. What´s needed is not a drug for the woman but a man with stamina who´s a good
lover /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I
think this thread ought to go into open discussion maybe.
I´ve not tried any of these as far as I recall.
Maybe it´s not sold here but I´m not sure.

No, don\'t
have any problem with that.
It\'s true that some of the newer antidepressants inhibit orgasm.
On the other
hand, one of them-- Anafranil-- often causes spontaneous orgasm in people when they sneeze (or maybe it\'s when
they yawn-- I forget which)
Anafranil is used for depression, and also for obsessive compulsive disorder.

Even when masturbating? Your comment is not particularly well-reasoned and certainly not
true. In fact, a good proportion of women have never had an orgasm - and I can spread myself around only so

From the responses, I guess no one knows much about it (DST, as usual, has an interesting lead). I\'ll

I\'ve heard from
several women who think that they take too long to orgasm or can\'t even have one - in their own judgment. They
would prefer to have easier and quicker orgasms (and more of them) and know that the solution is within themselves
and is not likely to be the fault of the male.
Sure, a clumsy or disinterested male lover can fail to induce an
orgasm for his woman. Most guys know that it is in their own interest to give it a good try for their woman.
I\'ve helped several women have their first orgasm - and loved doing it.
You seemed to jump to the conclusion
that it\'s always all the guy\'s fault. That\'s not true but maybe it is your experience.
Here I\'m
trying to help women and you\'re putting all the responsiblity on men.

why I said, all it really takes is a good lover. But not all women are after the same type you see.
You´re
always bringing up this sex/drug thing up and usually in the womens forum.
Did anyone here say `we need help cause
we´re not cumming`? I think you´re kidding when you say you´re trying to `help´the women.
Perhaps lovescent is
the wrong place for it, I mean most of the time. And I really don´t mean this in a rude or offending way!! There
must be other forums that actually deal with such issues, and I think if you really want to find out more and get
tips your best bet is to look there geddit?
Or why not talk to the women in question when you´re with them?

I\'ve been in many
\"swinging\" situations and can say with all honesty (in spite of a highly charged and erotic atmosphere) that
it\'s fairly common for both men and women to not achieve orgasm - viagra may play a role but a lot of guys will
deny using it which I find hard to believe given their hours of \"stamina\" and makes it difficult for me to come
to any real conclusions of why there was no orgasm. And, I\'ve asked many women about it (not having an orgasm in
this type of venue)and they always say that they don\'t mind at all, that it was fun anyways. I do think though
that on a one-to-one basis that CJ is more right than wrong. A knowledgeable and considerate man does help
enormously.

not usually as far
as I know but we tend to socialize with folks more our age (early 50s). We did meet one couple who were using it,
they came to our place but the other woman was not interested in me so nothing happened (I had 20 years on her).
She was bisexual though and on x - she did waver quite a bit before deciding \"not to do anything\". Alcohol and
weed use vary from none to overboard (alcohol). Most swinger parties ban all drug use due to the legal issues.

So Periactin
supposedly is locally antiserotoinic. That is it doesn\'t cross the blood/brain barrier. That should reduce
serotoinic inhibition in the spinal cord and pedula (sp?) nerves. If a guy took it it might tend to premature
ejaculation.
As to Claritin, I don\'t find any discussion of its local effects that would affect sexual
performance. As with all second and third generation anti-histamines, it doesn\'t cross the blood/brain barrier
either (much).
So what is the story on Claritin effects on males? Does it slow down ejaculation or does it
speed it up? Does it increase volume? I\'ve had seen some effects on sex before from antihistamines but none
were distinctly positive.
Any personal experiences?

Kari,
First/second generation antihistamines like Benadryl and Sudafed do affect sexual functions. I remember
retrograde ejaculations from being on Sudafed for a couple of days.
Of course, drug makers don\'t like to talk
about sexual effects as the FDA highly sensitive to such. Witness SSRIs and Wellbutrin.

SSRIs are NOTORIOUS,
esp. Prozac. Wellbutrin is better. Claritin is a very different formulation than the above mentioned antihistamines.

I speculate that its affect on male sexuality is to delay or retard male orgasm.
And yes, Ms. Lucky, I do take a

Your
\'alpha\' attitude is pleasure (isn\'t alpha being discussed in another forum?) to real women. What is better
than a man knowing what he wants, how he feels, and what he learns in the process?

I'm one of them woman that take a long time to have orgasm unless if I'm really into it. That is why I enjoy

go into any adult store and
you'll see a huge variety of vibrating toys of all shapes and sizes - mostly all for women. Why, because yes, it
takes some of them a good long time and an awful lot of stimulation to have an orgasm. Bisexual women are big on
toys cause they get thinking like guys after a bit "shit, it takes forever to get her off".

SweetBrenda,
You're so right, it
does help to fantasize. I keep one going all the time, keeps things lively. Also, from what I've read recently,
if women masturbate on a regular basis it helps to achieve orgasm more quickly. I guess because you learn what does
and doesn't work. I don't know, but I'm trying. I'll report back on it. Also, from what I've read most women
don't orgasm during actual intercourse, but a lot can during foreplay....if the guy knows what turns you on. My
husband does, and I achieve orgasm almost every time. Often I take to long, and I just give up, and move on to him.
I think during intercourse, woman on top, not facing the man helps, or doggie style - seems there's more contact
where it's needed. I'm not bi, so I can't comment on that, or on toys, or on SSRIs or Claritin.

Two major
topical lotions. One uses l-arginine to engorge the female tissues. An effective, quality, reputable product I can
recommend is Emerita Response Cream. Apply a little to the labia and clitoris and rub. In about 10 minutes, the
tissue will warm and swell and become more sensitive to sexual stimulation.
The other uses hormones. My
favorite is Dermal-XL by Dixie Health. It contains DHEA plus other ingredients in a very fine cream. Makes the
tissues "come alive" in the words of one friend.
If any of you fine LoveScent females would like to try some
and are in the San Francisco Bay Area, send me a personal note.

Hi all, this is my first post. A few years ago I was on an SSRI and consulted a psychopharmacologist about delayed
orgasm with it. (I had tried Wellbutrin, and while it didn't affect sexual response negatively, it also was not
effective for my depression). He suggested trying Periactin or Viagra and gave me prescriptions for both. Periactin
just made me sleepy and dull. Viagra was very helpful - increased lubrication, faster, fuller sexual response and
orgasm. It did make my nose very stuffy, though.
What was really interesting, though, was the herb yohimbe. I
had read about yohimbe (and its pharmacologic cousin, yohimbine) on Serge Kreutz's website
http://www.yohimbe.org/
He's a layperson who has done years of study and experimentation with various
substances (Rx, over-the-counter, and herbal preparations) that enhance libido, response and performance primarily
in men. I found some yohimbe at my local Rite-Aid drug store for about $8. The first time I tried it, I took a whole
pill (equivalent to 9 mg active ingredient) and it was quite effective in not only enhancing sexual experience in
all the ways Viagra does, but it also has stimulant effects to the degree that I was sleepless for over 24 hours. On
subsequent experimentation, I took half a pill and had all the benefits but no trouble sleeping, though it still
enlivened my mind and creativity. Unfortunately if you take it on a daily basis, its effects lessen dramatically. So
yohimbe is nice for special occasions.
