View Full Version : Movie Trivia Contest

Hi Folks,

I have

been wanting to have regular trivia quizes with prizes for some time now, but couldn\'t think of anything that

couldn\'t be solved with a quick Google search. I think quotes from movies might work. Let\'s try it.

Who

said this in what movie?

\"I never seen sugar do that before?\"

Product prize to the winner.

-

Winner is the first person to post the correct answer in this thread
- One entry per person

Damn, hope this

counts \'cause I almost left a really embarrassing guess here.

Then I remembered Will Smith. So, Will Smith

(???), MIB.

Don\'t remember that movie as well as I should.

Right flick,

wrong character. It was the woman who\'s married to the bug. I didn\'t know that, I just did a Google search.

Well there goes my

attempt to make a Google-proof trivia quiz, right down the crapper. It was fun there for a few minutes

anyway.

You were red hot there, guys, but it wasn\'t Will Smith. It was in fact the wife of the farmer who

turned into the bug.

He walks in after freshly eating her husband.

Wife: \"What was that, Edgar\"

(refering to the crash of the flying saucer into his truck)
Bug: \"Sugar\"
Wife: \"I never seen sugar do that

before\"
Bug: \"Give me sugar\"
Wife; (hands him a bowl of sugar)
Bug; (looks at the bowl) \"in

water\"
yada yada
wife: \"Edgar, your skin is hanging off your bones\"
(?????)
(wife faints)

Coming back

now?

Damn! Holmes you

are good. Is that why they call you Holmes?

OK, I gotta ask though... did you look that up on Google? or

what?

Great line though. My kids use it on me every now and then. The gag, for those who haven\'t seen the

movie (great flick by the way) is the juxtaposition of the serious heroine Ginger and the intellectually challenged

Babs who periodically throws out some moronic point when Ginger is doing her hero thing.
Ginger: (trying to insite

the other chickens to escape) \"Come on girls! We either stay here and they kill us, or we die trying to escape!

What\'s it going to be?!?\"
Babs: (totally spaced out) \"Are those the only choices?\"

Check it out; great

flick,]

Bruce
12-06-2003, 10:43 AM
You are thinking

about the albino down in the \"Pit of Dispare\". Different scene though. The \"damper\" scene is Indigo

Montoya waiting at the top of the cliff while the hero Wesley is climbing up the rocks. Indigo offers to help him

get to the top:
Indigo: ...but I don\'t think you will accept my help, as I am only waiting to kill you when you

get here.
Wesley: \"Yes, that does put a damper on our relationship\"

Indigo has the most famous line of the

movie which he introduces soon after the damper thing and repeats throughout the rest of the movie many times.

Anyone (besides Holmes :-) ) know it?

I love that movie. My other oft-repeated fave from that movie:

\"Inconceivable!\" Especially when they get to the top of the Cliffs of Insanity and they see the man in black is

climbing behind them. Indigo looks over at Vissini (sp?) and says, \"I\'m not sure that word means what you think

That\'s right.

Will Turner and Jack Sparrow are discussing who is the

better swordsman. Will accuses Jack of having cheated in their last duel and says: \"In a fair fight I would kill

you.\"
Jack: Then that\'s not much incentive for me to fight fair then, is it?

I tried to think of some

memorable lines from European films I have liked, but nothing comes to mind. I think that is a big salient feature

of Hollywood flicks; they are filled with zingers that you remember for years to come.

Whenever I hear Layla, I always think of that scene with the feds finding all the bodies.

Maury and his dead wife behind the wheel of that Caddy.

Unbelievably classic!

A true masterpiece!

Yeah, or

\"Sunshine Of Your Love.\" Always makes me think of that movie.

Here\'s a really tough one:

\"The muse!

The muse! The Goddamn muse!\"

Hmmm...

The Muse

(Albert Brooks).

The best part is when Scorsese shows up, talking about his new remake of \"Raging Bull\" with

a \"really thin\" guy. \"Thin n angry! Thin n angry! Can ya see it?\" Classic.

Ok, here\'s

another hint.

\"Why don\'t you just ask him for the money Eddie? He sure as hell can\'t take a

hint!\"

or

\"Real tomato ketchup Eddie?!\"

\"Nuthin but the best for you Clark!\"

Nobody got my

\"nice goin\' DeNiro\"?

Two idiots are trying to hustle the bartender at a bowling alley. The one guy says

something like \"I just got my paycheck, and feel like betting on a game, but I\'m so messed up, I\'ll probably

lose my shirt.\"

No bells ringing?

OK, here\'s a good one. This guy cracked me up in a DVD I watched last

night.

Who was voted best comedic actor for 2003 by High Times magazine?

\"Fine-lookin\' big-titty women

I think I remember that line when

someone says that something doesn\'t just drop out of the sky and it does, so someone else says that line as if

hoping for it to also happen. I believe it was Eddie Griffith from Undercover Brother, but I could be way off.

Either way, he is a really funny actor.

Hey, OK

guys.
Kingpin it is. That line cracked me up.

And Pancho and Steve got the other one. Dogma. Not my normal

movie type, but I split a number of guts watching that thing. And Jay (was it?); one of the two \"profits\".

What a scream that character is.

Pancho, yeah, it starts out where Jay is arguing with a girl about to run off

saying \"guys don\'t just drop out of the sky, you know\" and of course zzzzzing! Splat! A guy drops out of the

sky. And he immediatly counters with the \"fine-lookin\' big titty women don\'t just drop out of the sky, you

know\"

(Dogma) was great. Big Kevin Smith fan here.

And

Mallrats.

Shannon: \"You see, Bruce, I like to pick up girls on the rebound from a disappointing

relationship. They\'re much more in need of solace and they\'re fairly open to suggestion. And, I use that to

f!ck them some place very uncomfortable.\"

Brodie: \"What, like the back of a Volkswagen?\"

Watch them

in order, if you can. Everybody kinda knows each other, and they allude to the other movies.
