Alabama:

Dreamland in Tuscaloosa. All they serve is barbecue, tea, lemonade, and white bread. GREAT ribs.

Tennessee:

Dry rub ribs at the Rendezvous down in an alley near the Peabody Hotel in downtown Memphis. YUM!

Thanks exit and srh.

SRH,

is the one with the bread and lemonade the place that doesn\'t give you utensils? ie you have to use the bread to

scoop up your food.

Why would you need

utensils for bbq??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If they have \'em, I\'ve never used \'em. Been there?

For stuff like pulled pork

or whatever. There\'s a chain or resturants in St. Louis that do it like that, and they have a location in the

South but I can\'t remember the name. I\'m going there soon to visit a food supplier, and I want to eat

southern bbq, but also I want to see if I can find this place (the one with no utensials).

I\'m pretty sure

Dreamland isn\'t a chain. There are lots of bbq joints in the South that don\'t have utensils anyway.

I\'m not sure what chain you\'re talking about, but I

don\'t usually go to chain bbq places. Hole-in-the-wall places have better food, IMO.

I only know that

Montgomery Rib King in Cincinnati is one of the best and famous rib joints. Obviously, this isn\'t very helpful,

except for serious rib lovers who pass through Ohio.

DSmellthis, thanks, that

actually is helpful. I\'ll have to try and get there. Funny how it is called Montgomery (perhaps Alabama?) Rib

King.

I think I will avoid that one highway in Columbus...

There\'s a pretty

big bbq chain called Corky\'s, and I hear it\'s pretty good, depending on which one you go to. I don\'t know

how widespread it is, and I\'ve never been there myself.

In Cali, Andy\'s BBQ

rocks. But that\'s a bit out of the way for ya. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

And in NYC,

Daisy May\'s! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
