Has anybody seen the movie

Casino? If yes, I\'m sure you can see how Robert DiNero or Joe Pesci both become powerful in Vegas. If no,

basically, two guys become powerful in Vegas through mostly illegal means, but it all revolves around money and

power. I am in high school, and frankly I want to be Robert DiNero of Casino in school. I want to walk in and know

that I own the place. Now PI, I\'m sure would help me with this. But in the end, it all revolves around money.

Does anybody know how I can make money, then pay people to back me up, or do things for me? Money is the key here, I

need it. A grocery store job or any common teenager job just isn\'t enough.

OK...I thought about it for a bit

and I know what you need. You need to save up some money and get yourself a shiny space ship. Think how cool you

will look when your sparkly ship lands on the school grounds and you exit wearing a gold sparkly space suit with

really cool looking sun glasses. The chicks would go nuts!

Space ship = POWER!

Sexyredhead

Or for the low-budget

version, just show up in the sparkly space outfit with the cool glasses and tell all the girls you\'re spaceship

is invisible. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Personally, I\'d shoot for the Robert DeNiro in real

Rupert Pupkin--you wanna pattern yourself after somebody? There\'s

the guy! He had such a great sense of style. And that mustache!

You could go for a Jake Lamotta vibe, but then

Or how about Travis Bickle? Nah, bad

I am surprised that nobody has

thought of this. Maybe Machorito can start his own one man band. Women love musicians. It wouldn\'t have to cost

that much. A couple of spoons, a garbage pail lid, some shells in a coffee can. This could really work.

Holmes
11-15-2003, 06:39 AM
Funny, I was just thinking the

same! Here\'s what you do: learn to play one or two chords on the guitar (or a little OOH AH OOH-OOH AH on the

drums). Write some sophomoric anthems about getting laid. Put on some face paint and platforms. Have action figures

made in your own likeness. And for God\'s sake, mate, stick out your tongue!

Oh, the millions you\'ll

make.

Then, you can write a book and brag about all the women you may or may not have slept with.

God, I totally agree with regard

to J Lo! I just cannot abide the woman or her \"work.\" Best thing she ever did was the Selena film

and even that was highly suspect.

Did you mean Timbaland or Timberlake, CJ? Timbaland

is a freaking genius. And Timberlake...funny, I was just mentioning to someone about liking the new CD, even though

I can\'t come to grips with what he and his ilk (Britney, etc.) represent for the times ahead...

Britney

Spears? Ugh. What the hell is she?

Manchorito:

When I was your age I felt the same way. In high school I was fairly

poor and a geek. Did all the science classes, got good grades and held a job. As a result, the cool guys picked on

me. My short temper led me into quite a few fights. It took a while and a few black eyes to learn that it is a fight

you cannot win!

An older friend convinced me that marshal arts would help me win more fights and got me

involved. By time I was a junoir, I could hold my own against almost anybody but had no desire to fight any longer.

The a$$holes I thought were important had become trifles as I grew to realize how shallow and insignificant they

really were. I had learned to respect myself and my own accomplishments and no longer needed to prove anything to

anybody.

I am not telling you to get involved in marshal arts, that is only one of many paths to self

respect. It\'s the self respect you need to develop. From reading your posts you are not dumb and you seem to have

a good heart. The things you want are the same ones we all want but they are earned, there\'s no free lunch. A

desire for revenge will only take you down the same pathway those who pick on you are taking. Do you really want to

be like them? As your self respect grows, you\'ll find yourself involved with far more interesting people who will

treat you well because that is how you treat them. It all comes from doing your best, being honest both with

yourself and others and treating those around you with respect.

Of course, there is a lot more to developing

self respect than any of us could write in a single post or even a whole book. And earning self respect doe not mean

that you will always win. It does mean that you will have the respect and aid of those around you and when you

stumble, you\'ll have their help getting back up.

Thanks but I didn\'t pick up the hobby to gain self respect. I learned

through discipline and challenging myself that I am as good as anybody else and often better. It\'s a way of

living, a belief about life. I learned to be more concerned with what I thought of myself and to behave with honor

under every circumstance. That sounds pompous but it is true. Why do you care what those clowns think of you?

Aren\'t you above that? Life is far too short to play silly a$$ed little games that don\'t accomplish a damned

thing. If you are always concerned with being the best human being you can be you\'ll eventually learn to

recognize those people who harrass you for the clowns they really are. At the same time, you\'ll gain the respect

if the majority of people.

Women don\'t want a wimp who is always trying to please others, nor do the want an

angry one who is out for revenge. They want a man who is self reliant, kind and caring, one they can trust. There

are a lot of guys on the forum who are going to argue the point but why take their word for it? How many of them can

see the world from a woman\'s point of view or are in happy relationships? Ask the ladies here what they find most

attractive in a man, they are the ones who know.

chill out with the power and the women. Don\'t even pursue those things. The other things may or may not follow,

<hr /></blockquote><font class=\"post\"> CC, they don´t alway `do well´with

the `ladies´. And the `ladies´are often in the same category or they don´t realize what type of guy they´re with.

So that´s nothing to go by. Besides that´s pretty irrelevant to what we´ve been really on about.

They´ve made

too many films about american high schools /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Manch, I think the upshot is that

you are gonna find out that after high school, most of the jock high school heroes will be instant nobodies.

You

will also find that most worthwhile woman are NOT impressed with machismo-- quite the contrary, in fact. They want a

genuine, kind, intelligent, sensitive man who is utterly himself. Not a posturing, testosterone-intoxicated

[censored].

And, as we\'ve told you before-- if sucking up to popular jock assholes makes you feel bad...

DON\'T. It\'s really that easy. Vote them invisible. Blow them off. Their power is limited by the walls and

years of the school.

Most people end up choosing to forget their high school years for good reason.

Popular shouldn\'t be demonized.

As for Manch, he is just as

bad as the people he doesn\'t like. He compains about the popular kids using him and not really respecting him but

he is just using them and doesn\'t really respect them either.

There\'s no connection between being

popular and being a dick or growing ugly faster. Power simply exposes
a person\'s true character while a lack

of power hides it.

Actually, you\'re right.

Popular should not be demonized. My apologies. Also, some popular kids were shitheads, others were pretty cool.

The dumb macho ones, though, often were no longer so sought after beyond graduation.

Take Panch,

for instance (actually, most of the ladies on this list WOULD take Panch). He\'s popular, on this list. Well

liked, and sought after. The fact that he\'s ripped and good looking has less to do with it than his intelligence,

wit, charm and common sense.

Wait! Ripped and good looking..... well, that MAY factor in heavily. &lt;g&gt;
