View Full Version : Keener than men

We’ve read that women have

much more sensitive noses than men, especially at certain times in the cycle. And that they are particularly attuned

to male body scents. A female friend made a comment in passing that bears this out, and it startled me a bit when

she threw it out in casual conversation.

She was recalling her days in college at an all-female school,

living in the dorms. She was talking about the excitement the girls felt on the rare times a man was detected in the

dorms. She threw out the idea that even if they never heard a man’s voice they knew when he passed by their room -

the girls would run and open their room doors to look down the hall and see what man had walked by. “Of course we

could smell men when they walked by…” she said matter-of-factly, as if that were common knowledge.

I think

men must often underestimate a woman’s keen sense of smell. Another reason to go easy on your phero dose guys…not to

mention cologne.

I´m not surprised, in

fact it makes sense to me.

First of all, men tend to move differently than women and thus sound different

(footsteps etc). Also in an environment which is so familiar to you a change of some sort is more noticable I guess

including the scent. If that had been a mixed place it wouldn´t have been as easy to determine that there´s a (new)

guy around.
I get it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have read this

time and time again, that women have keener noses and therefore us guys need to get more subtle with mones/cologne,

and I totally believe it based on the responses from women, but I just wish I could make MY nose keener to the

scent, because I just don\'t feel as good about the whole thing if I go out and I smell absolutely nothing.

Good thread ... I\'m going to refer to it each time before I apply my scent for the day ...

By the way, this

also implies that women should put on a little more sometimes, since we guys are smell-deaf
