I have an e-mail

account from yahoo, for 5 years. But lately i get these messages from yahoo-billing.com stating i have to update my

account, or my account with yahoo, will be closed, so i contacted yahoo, about this all they stated, was that this

billing service is not related to them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif But how can they send me

this message in the first place, i have a FREE-ACCOUNT with them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

now my question is , did any of you who have yahoo mail service receive any message like this ??? And what did you

do about it ??

On the internet, it is still easy to call yourself

\"yahoo-billing\" even though you don\'t have ties to Yahoo, just like \"kazaagold\" has nothing to do with

the real \"kazaa\" ....

I now what you mean franki, but are they some kind of scam

??? Trying to scam to fill out my credit card information ??? well i won\'t fall for that, since i already have a

free-mail account with yahoo, but what really worried me was the fact they stated if i don\'t update my credit

account they would close my mail account /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif
What really worried

me even more was the facts they new alot about me, but the fact that yahoo itself stated that they where no part

them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I wonder if yahoo

has taken legal action of some sort yet. I´ve not recieved a warning from them regarding this issue. WOuld be a

good idea if they did this, so people don´t fall into this trap. The thought that they have info on you is kinda

scary though!

Yes CJ01, but what was really weird was the fact that i tried to contact

them through the mail they send me via yahoo-billing.com but was returned to me and sated that this mail addres does

not exisit. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif that\'s why i immidiatly contacted yahoo it self

about it but just received the facts that they where no part of them at all.

Probably they

(Yahoo AND the scammers) didn\'t even register a domain yahoo-billing either, so is is clear that these are

spammers / scammers.

If they

already had your info, they wouldn\'t be asking you to give it to them to verify. They\'d give it to you to

verify. Make sense?

Don\'t worry. They probably got your email from one of those places that sells email

addresses. Just ignore it.

My favorite is the one that says I\'ve just been billed $246, on my credit card, because I have been money laundering. If I have NOT been money laundering, would I please send them my credit card number so they can correct it.

Oh! And there\'s the one from Fifine in Korea that says she\'s in eBay security, and would I please re-enter my account info?

But, the Nigerian ones have got people KILLED.

Most ISPs and other enterprises have added a \"spoof\" address, for JUST that sort of mailing. Try:spoof@yahoo.com. Forward the original. Or, if that doesn\'t work, forward to abuse@yahoo.com (\"abuse@yahoo.com\")

I got the following email and just ignored it, knew it was a scam. These

people are trying to collect your CC numbers so they can fraudulently bill things to them. I tried clicking on the

link they provided, and it did NOT go to www.earthlink.net (\"http://www.earthlink.net\"); it went to

some other temporary website the scammers set up. I also received the exact same email from DarkProfits as DZorro

did. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Don\'t EVER provide one of your CC numbers if you get an

unsolicited email requesting you to give it out!

Dear Customer,
A processing error has occurred with your

EarthLink account. This could be caused by a number of reasons as follows:

1. Your credit card failed

authorization due to the reason that it has expired or has been found in EarthLink database under a different

account ID. In order to remedy the problem we suggest that you provide another credit card that can be billed for

EarthLink services. In order to ensure that your EarthLink account remains active, it is advisable that you supply a

credit card that has not been used to pay for EarthLink services within the past 30 days.
2. Your EarthLink account

has been accessed by a third party that requested a password change, causing EarthLink staff to issue you a

different password. It is now required that you fill out and submit again all necessary account information in order

to verify that your account has not been further compromised.
3. An e-mail was sent to you with a request for

information on your EarthLink account details. If you have received such a message, please disregard it as it may be

a third party attempt to gain access to your EarthLink account. After your new account information has been

processed you will be redirected back to www.earthlink.net. (\"http://www.earthlink.net.\") Please verify

all details prior to submitting.
This issue must be solved within 24 hours of receiving this email or your account

may be suspended and/or terminated and a reactivation fee of $24.95 will be applied if you choose to continue your

EarthLink Experience. This fee cannot be waived once the account has been deactivated. For fastest processing,

follow the secure link to verify your information. When you open the verification page, EarthLink establishes a

secure connection with your Web browser using SSL. During this secure session, communication between your computer

and EarthLink is encrypted, or scrambled, using the most advanced methods commercially available. Please visit

www.earthlink.net/verify.asp (\"http://www.earthlink.net/verify.asp\") or click the link below to verify

your personal & billing information.

Update billing information

Thank you in advance for your

co-operation.
