Hey
peeps,
Just wanted to recommend two amazing movies--just out on video/DVD--to anyone interested in more
artistic/indie films. Both of \'em totally kicked my a$$.
Everyone probably knows about Better Luck
Tomorrow by now, the story of a group of super-overachieving high school kids who, bored to tears by the
lack of challenge in their lives, take a plunge into hardcore criminal activity. Killin\'.
Even more
interesting is Charlotte Sometimes, a great character study of the \"Nice Guy\" type often
mentioned here on the Forum, and what happens to him when he gets caught up in what becomes one mother of a
love triangle. It\'s a prime--but odd-- example of how LJBF territory can really complicate your life. Eric Byler
(the writer/director of the film) is a genius, IMHO.
These two titles are different as night and day in scope and
execution, but both are highly, highly recommended to anyone who loves fresh, creative, engaging movies.
Check \'em out if you have a chance!
