Since the mix calculator doesn\'t have all the women\'s products in it, I went through past posts to try to see how everyone comes up with their PERSONAL ratio/formula etc. It seems to be based on %per ml of certain mones are in a mix. I decided to use two posts in the Women\'s Forum to test my math. EW isn\'t in the calc or in the product table. So, I\'m using info gleaned from the forums. So, it may or may not be correct. On one thread that involved the evolution of the calc, several units of measurement were somewhat agreed upon. These are the ones I used as well as a couple of others I\'ve found in the forum.
1 oz = 30 mls
1 ml = 20 drops
1 drop = .05 ml
1 dab = .01 ml
1 spray = .13 ml
I do understand that these measurements are all dependent upon the size of my dropper/etc.

I took a posted mix for diluted EW. 1 gallon water to 5 drops EW. I felt I needed to get the EW & water to the same unit of measurement, in this case a drop.
1 gallon water = 128 ozs = 3840 mls = 76,800 drops
I then add the 5 drops EW. 76,805
One drop EW has .5% cops per drop (I think, please correct me if I\'m wrong. I need to know this stuff).
Therefore, I took .5 and divided it by 76,805 = .00000651% cops per drop. Multiplied this by 20 to get the amount per ml. Answer: .0001302% cops per ml.

Then, the next part involves a post by ANONYMOUS, on 11/18/02, EW Body Spray. She describes a mix using diluted EW & then adding more EW to a part of the original dilution.

In a 8 oz spray bottle, put 8 oz diluted EW (5 drops/1 gal water) and add 1 drop undiluted EW to this. Now, I want to know how many cops are in each SPRAY.

8 oz = 240 ml
Each ml of the diluted EW has .0001302% cops. Therefore, I would multiply this by 240. Result: .031248%cops per 240 mls. I would add the 1 drop undiluted EW (.5) to this, .531248% cops total in the spray bottle (8oz diluted EW + 1 drop EW).

How much cops in each spray? The THEORITICAL ml amount in the bottle is 240.05. I took .531248 divided by 240.05 to get .002213% cops per ml of this new mix. If each spray is about .13 ml, then one spray should contain .0002876% cops.

I figured that it takes 7.6923076 sprays to equal 1 ml. So I divided .002213 by 7.6923076 to come up with my final %.

Did I get the math right? Am I on the right track as to how to figure these mone amounts? Thanks in advance for any help.

Randa,

The EW ratios in those posts was for use with a very concentrated EW. It was a sample item back in 2002. Unless the EW, that is sold on L-S is the same stuff that was given out as samples last year, those ratios are not going to work well with the current EW of today. That sample had to be diluted many time over, because of its concentrated state. I think the new EW, is already diluted. I\'m not sure about this, but I\'d check before proceeding. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We figured the original EW at 100% cops. The new EW is diluted 1/100, it would be 1% cops, or 10 mg/ml.
