Incase the image doesn\'t display , CLICK HERE (\"http://www.hairlosstalk.com/research/img/norwood.gif\") - THAT\'S the infamous NORWOOD SCALE

Right now , I\'m a \"2\" on that scale ! (Or more like an 1.5 becoming a 2)

Here\'s the problem : From the looks of it , I seem to be on my way from 1,5 down to 2A or even 3 - Unless I act now and do something to prevent this from happening !
I did some researching ( Hairlosstalk (\"http://www.hairlosstalk.com\") and also found some interesting posts. (Further down ...)

I\'d like to hear some quality comments by people who are familiar with the topic ! (Experience the same/use(d)propecia)

Oh and just to make sure we don\'t waste each others time :

-Why I worry about it ? Why not just let nature do what it does ? Why not shave it of ?

BECAUSE I F.UCKING LOVE MY HAIR THE WAY IT IS ! I don\'t want it to change , I can\'t shave it off because :

a) my scalp shape without hair looks simply ridiculous !
b) I LOVE MY HAIR THE WAY IT IS !

-I have no confidence issues whatsoever ! It doesn\'t trouble me too much , I\'m not whining,crying... (Mainly because its very good looking right now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

Simply: If there is a chance to keep it the way it is - I\'LL TAKE IT (while I can)!

-so pls no bald men look oh so sexy comments - thx !

+ Btw , if you know very cheap online worldwide proscar retailers (besides those mentioned in the posts) lemme know ! Thx in advance. Proscar seems to be the only serious way to go, but will it help with tempels ??? DOn*t know - lemme hear your opinions !

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...As mentioned above, Propecia is just a 1mg version of Proscar, the 5mg tablet used for treating BPH. The ingredients in Proscar are identical. Both contain finasteride. If you can find a physician to write you a prescription for Proscar, you can get 30 tablets for about $60. The same cost for 30 tablets of Propecia. The fun part is, Proscar has 5 times the dosage, so some people split the pills into 5ths with pill cutters and take 1/5th a day. This $60 will last you 5 months, effectively cutting your monthly \"Propecia\" bill from $60 to about $12. Note! It is extremely difficult to cut a Proscar pill into 5ths. Some just go with 4ths and take 1.25mg per day. You do this at your own risk! Side effects are notably higher at this dosage. Others dissolve a pill in ether and split it into 5 equal parts, taking one part of the liquid per day, effectively getting exactly 1mg at quite a discount.

...BTW, generic 5% Minoxidil is only $19.95 for a 4 month supply at Costco, and generic Proscar (Finisteride) can be had cheap from overseas pharmacies such as this one:

http://www.dru-online.com/dru.cgi (\"http://www.dru-online.com/dru.cgi\")

5mg pills x 30 split into 4ths will last you 4 months at a cost of 29.99 + shipping is also very inexpensive.

I\'ve ordered several items from them in the past with no problem.

...Then there is Propecia/Proscar. I do not want to go into great medical detail, but it blocks the production of the hormone DHT, which causes hair follicles to produce thinner and thinner hair, until the area gets bald (DHT is also in the oily residue most men get on their bald areas in course of a day). Dont buy Propecia, it costs as much as Proscar (from the same producer), but has only a fifth of the ingrediences. So buy Proscar, split it in 4 or 5 parts.
On some men (2%), it has the effect to drive down their sex drive. Mostly this goes away after a few months, and it definetely and always goes away after you stop taking Proscar.

Regarding both: They are most effectful if you combine them. Note that you cannot regain hair on areas where you are completely bald, but you can regain where your hair thinned out. The combination of Minoxidyl and Proscar works on most men. Results vary, of course. With Minoxidyl, you may experencie a stronger fallout (known as shedding) on the first few months. The effects of Proscar on your hair can only be seen after at least 6 months! After 12 to 24 months, you will see the full effect. As with minoxidyl, you have to take it as long as you want your hair. If you recognise your hairloss early, you have better chances to stop it.

Option number 3 is hair transplant, which mostly gives great results, but is imho more apt for older men. If you decide for it, dont go with the cheapest doctor - there are alot of quacks around, as it seems - look around and ask other patients. And go for the \"micro follicle\" transplant, where not skin areas of hair are transplanted from your back head to your front and crown, but seperate and unique hair follicles.

Might end up looking like THIS GUY (\"http://www.hairlosshelp.com/websites/TheDane/\") ! Not a good option

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFL !

Ok thx to Elana who gave me a very interesting link !

http://www.hairsite4.com/dc/dcboard.php (\"http://www.hairsite4.com/dc/dcboard.php\") !!!

I spend the last hour reading that stuff and came to one simply conclusion : EACH and every product , currently out there (definetly including propecia) is either ineffective for a vast majority , or will totally mess up your health (forever) !

Well this makes my decision kinda simple :

I\'ll completely forget about the whole hair thing and let nature do whatever it likes to do. Afterall I\'m only at 1.5 on that scale being 20y...chances are I won\'t move to fast down the line till I hit 30 , where I\'ll either shave everything off (hmm maybe that scalp isn\'t that bad ) or look into hair cloning.

Right now I\'m a goodlookin motherfunker who does\'t give the slightest flying F*** about his hair anylonger /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nuff said !

I think this demonstrates the calibre of people on that forum:

http://www.hairsite4.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=10&topic_id=830&mes g_id=830&page= (\"http://www.hairsite4.com/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=10&topic_id=830&mes g_id=830&page=\")

What a bunch of tossers.

BTW, the best thing you can do for your hair is keeping your scalp clean and healthy. I recommend staying away from most hair products apart from a simple shampoo, and rubbing emu oil or jojoba oil into your scalp regularly to keep the skin in good condition. I don\'t claim it\'ll stop hair loss, but at least your scalp will look good when you end up shaving it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
