Am i correct in thinking that pheromones are proteins? If so, they can be denatured by extreme temps, towards the hot spectrum. You say they survive several washes on clothes, ok fair enough, the temperature may not be high enough to denature them, but how about ironing the shirt? Or is this still way off from the point of denaturation?

Pheromones are, for the most part, steroids.

They do not get denatured as such (btw proteins denature at all temps, just faster the hotter it gets), but it has been said that around 60 degrees (??) they are damaged.

Yeah, if i recall from back in the days (couple of years) of study, steroids are modified proteins, think with a couple of lipids on or something. Anyhoo, ironing clothes must be a method of removing the mone saturation of the item?

Endoplasmic recticulum are the \"factories\" of our cells. There are two types, RoughER (with Ribosomes) and SmoothER (no Ribosomes). Ribosomes make protien from mRNA and the amino acids attached to tRNA (i wont get into that...), so RER makes protein.

SER is responsible for the synthesis of lipis and steroids (androgens etc.).

Soooooo....

Pheromones (the ones here anyway) are not protiens.
