this is kinda random but has anyone seen that commercial for axe where the women talk to the camera (which is a guy) and their all forgiving and stuff or something. is that kinda the effect u get when u have on the mones?

Andy
05-29-2003, 08:41 AM
Not really, usually the girls start ripping of my clothes and literally jump me ... not much time to talk then. Well, they are doin\' it without mones anyway, so I am not sure if that counts /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. J/K

It depends on the girl I guess, you might have altering effects that tweak her behavior. Mones are just cream on the cone, an interesting way to complete the image you are projecting and definitely not a love potion or alike.

those AXE commercials are so obviously inflammatory, but still soooo effective. I use AXE tsunami, and fully realize that women will not hump me on the street purely due to the smell, yet those commercials just make it seem like such a likely possibility... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

No matter how rediculous those commercials may seem, I think they still get that sex message accross so strongly, that even the hyperbole becomes a subliminally accepted truth.

Freaken good for them, I say. At least the stuff is cheap, otherwise every guy at my school would be dirt-ass poor.

According to a poll of 500 women in Men\'s Health Magazine the STRONGLY preferred smell of Axe Deodorant Body spray was TSUNAMI, hands down.

Actually, using axe is better than deodorant, it doesn\'t clog the pores, but it does kill the bacteria, which will limit the mones.

I\'ve NEVER gotten those effects from mones before.

It\'s usually either suttle, or DIHL.....

I\'ve said it before...

A girl can be horny as hell, but she\'s not going to show it.

A guy can have a hard on, but he\'s going to hide it, not walk around with a boner....

lol

Either way.

What can you do right....

Yup! They remind me of the \"hi karate\" commercials that were prevalent when I was an adolescent. My brother saw those women running after the guy who wore hi karate and he just HAD to have some fo that cologne. And did I mention it smelled awful??

Interesting you say that women prefer the Tsunami one. I think that\'s the one I picked out. Are these Axe sprays supposed to contain mones??

And p.s., re: beer, it\'s all a regional thing. When I lived in Colorado, you wouldn\'t be caught dead drinking a coors - that\'s what the tourists drink. Kinda like how Corona is more popular here, but not in Mexico! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The Axe ad team should get a huge raise. Their commercials are fantastic. I love the elevator one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Bart, as I remember it, they said that most of the 500 women thought axe smelled good. But it was the editors that said they preferred tsunami. Alas, I do not remember where I left the magazine.

But I do agree, tsunami\'s good. My one woman friend told me \"you\'re wearing this EVERY day\" when she smelled it on me..

The style of those commercials is quite old, they used it already about 20 years ago in germany.

I have to give it to AXE for over exaggerating in their commercials, but it does sell products. I\'ve had complements with wearing Kilo or Tsunami in the workplace. I recommend all guys wearing AXE with their Pheromone products.

Are these Axe sprays supposed to contain mones??

I don\'t think the Axe contains any -mones, but I recall ready an older post stating that it contains an ingredient to reduce or prevent bacterial growth on the skin. I believe someone recommended using as a cover scent to reduce or prevent conversion to -anone. Don\'t quote me on this, i\'m new around here, but you could do some digging if interested. Anyone who\'s been around the phorum for awhile recall this post, or have any input?

Actually Tim, I am quite sure that they just tested the different kinds of Axe smells.

Quite sure.

Editors? I don\'t believe they had an opinion (printed...).

It was..

Out of a survey of 500 women the preferred was Tsunami.

Either way.

It\'s just something to keep you from smelling bad.

Compliments on cologne. Sure, girls complement you on cologne...etc...That doesn\'t really seem to do very much.

As far as getting a girl in bed, I don\'t think it will matter...And as far as a girl \"loving\" you, that doesn\'t matter either.

Unless you expose her to the same scent every time you bang her..And even then that doesn\'t matter, you have to bang her to begin with, and remember your body had its own smell.

Quite sure, eh?

Men\'s Health, December 2002, page 74. \"Spray-on Sex Appeal
Axe deadorant body spray is a fragrance and deodorant that you spray under your arms and all over your body. You\'ll save 50 bucks on a new bottle of cologne--enough to replace the shirt you\'ll be losing: 62 percent of women have \"stolen\" a guy\'s shirt because they loved the way it smelled, according to a recent survey of 500 women. We liked the Tsunami scent. $5 at drugstores.\"

Heck, even I was wrong. The women surveyed weren\'t even answering about axe.

And what\'s the purpose of the last half of your post? I was agreeing that Tsunami was good through an example from my life.

Yep, I confess: \"I can\'t go for that!\"

Little musical intermezzo:
No, I can\'t go for that, (No can do)
Oh, I can\'t go for that, (No can do)
I can\'t go for that, can\'t go for that, can\'t go for that.
I can\'t go for being twice as nice,
I can\'t go for just repeating the same old lines.
Use the body, now you want my soul,
Ooh, forget about it, now say no go.

Oh and one other thing: there are (not many but there really are) still some people in Amsterdam who are not smoking dope every night. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif So I wouldn\'t call it a \'certain degree of stupidity\', maybe \'naive\' or one could even call it a \'certain degree of sensibility\'. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I called Lever Faberge (the manufacturer of Axe, Lynx and Ego). Not all fragrances are available in each country. Sometimes they introduce a fragrance worldwide and sometimes they don\'t... Depending on the results of market research. I guess Americanos and Americanettes prefer other scents than Europenos and Europenettes!

So: at this moment Tsunami is only available in the States. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

<hr /></blockquote><font class=\"post\">

From Basenotes.com
\"Axe was launched by Fabergé in 1983. Today it is the biggest mens toiletries brand in the world and is market leader in most of the 60 countries it sells in, with a 10%-20% share of the market. In the Summer of 2002, Unilever spent $90 million introducing Axe to the USA and Canada.

The brand was launched as LYNX in the UK back in 1985 (It is also known as Lynx in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand). South Africans knew the brand as EGO until, that became AXE in 2002.

The range consists of around 6 fragrances. To ensure that the range is kept on the ball with current fragrance market trends, a new version is launched each year with the poorest selling scent quietly dropped. It\'s a bit like a deodorant version of Big Brother or the Weakest Link. The new fragrances are normally launched in January of each year and tend to be based on the most popular fine fragrance trends of the time - this is why Axe / Lynx products tend to smell better than your average deodorant.

The Lynx / Axe range has now branched out with shaving, skin care and haircare products. To coincide with this, in 2000, Faberge also opened several Lynx Barbershops in the UK, one in London\'s busy Oxford street. Unfortunatley, it didn\'t take off and it\'s now closed.

The range was introduced to the USA and Canada in 2002 with six fragrances: Axe Phoenix, Axe Orion, Axe Kilo, Axe Voodoo, Axe Tsunami and Axe Apollo\"

A non-exhaustive list of Axe fragrances around the world:
Axe Africa / Lynx Africa (1998)
Axe Voodoo / Lynx Voodoo (1999)
Axe Phoenix / Lynx Phoenix (2000)
Axe Gravity (2001)
Axe White Label (2001)
Axe Dimension (2002)
Axe Pulse (2003)
Axe Apollo / Lynx Apollo
Axe Atlantis / Lynx Atlantis
Axe Aztec / Lynx Aztec
Axe Inca / Lynx Inca
Axe Java / Lynx Java
Axe Marine / Lynx Marine
Axe Mirage / Lynx Mirage
Axe Oriental / Lynx Oriental
Axe Agrest
Axe Tsunami
Axe Kilo
Axe Orion
