Requesting Amouage Samples

April 3 - no reply; resent message to Amouage
April 4 - reply from Wendy, referring me to NJ distributor
April 13 - no reply; replied to Wendy & cc\'d NJ
April 15 - reply from Angela Kehoe, Cust Serv, NJ with apologies for delay citing email problems; stated that she would send samples
April 19 - received samples in plain manila envelope:

2 - Amouage Dia for men ?
1 - Amouage Dia for women
1 - Amouage Silver for men ... broken in transit
1 - Amouage Silver for women

First impression, as I opened the package and immeadiately smelled the broken men\'s sample:
I am not worthy! This is WAY more complex and sophisticated then my limited \"scent\" experience! I\'ll have to be VERY careful as I experiment. My goal is to use the samples at work and when going out in the evening. Both venues will be a challenge! I work with the same small group of women every day, so will have to be discrete and discriminating. One women in particular has the nose of a bloodhound and isn\'t shy about letting her opinion be known. This is not a bad thing, just that she is WAY more sensitive than the others. Going out in the evening means doing those family things that a husband and father does. Church, school events, the occaisional dinner, etc. Anyway, I hope to be able to report more later. And to educate my nose!

I requested samples along with my snail mail addy &amp; 2 days later she said she\'d send some out. This was only a couple of days ago.

I love that reaction! You\'ll get used to it, and then know you deserve to smell fabulous.

Be patient. If it\'s been a week or so, send a gentle reminder. I think that the staff has been overwhelmed with email correspondence and is having difficulty coping. Remember that politeness and good will can accomplish more than impatience! Good luck!

The plan is to try Dia for men this week at work. I\'m anxious to see what the response will be. Also eager to educate my nose!

They were postmarked the 22nd of April.

At least she didn\'t lose my request.

Curious if anyone else finally received samples.

I received mine two days ago.
It took about two weeks to get here.

They smell like \"rich old fart\"

but i kinda like the \"Dia\" - not as \'serious\' as the Gold one.

I am seriously considering buying the Dia (for men), because I like it very much. The Gold is a bit too intense and \"old\".

I got my samples yesterday! My favorite is the Eau d\'Amouage for women, it\'s in a small purple tester, nice and romantic, lighter than the other samples. Also kind of liked the Silver one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Everyone is correct, these are serious fragrances. But somehow with the fine mist that the samplers spray, they don\'t come off too heavy on the skin.

Anyone ever tried Clive Christian\'s \"No. 1\"?

Dittos to that - Dia is definitely more to my liking. The Gold has this \"baby powder\" smell which gives it a musty \"old\" feel to it.

Actually, a friend sent me some leftover samples a week or so ago - I wore Gold and Dia. I can\'t smell Gold on me at all. Dia, slightly more. They both put a funny taste in my mouth.

I had a hard time mixing them with \'mones, too. PI/w was ok, but PCC in combination with either EDT \"tasted\" off.


I thought I would wait and see with these samples from the manufacturer. Next time I have a special occasion, I\'ll wear one.

I\'m wondering whether what you tried was the Gold and Dia for Women. I tried the versions for men that came when I purchased Amouage Gold for a lady friend.
