I thought those camps were run by the Kurds and by Iran, and not by Iraq ...

Sargat is many miles into Kurdish-controlled territory, as you can see from this map. I guess if you\'ve got a gripe with Ansar al-Islam you should take it up with the Kurds, since the Iraqi government had virtually no control over that area for years. And, as other articles have pointed out, Ansar al-Islam is believed to have produced those poisons on their own, since they\'re very easily made.

Why wouldn\'t we care?

Wow, what a shock /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I still think that we should have waited for an Iraqi terrorist group to kill some people in America before we took out their terrorist regime. That would have been even better proof. Don\'t cha think?

That was meant sarcastically. So many people will never believe that taking out Saddam was justified under any circumstances, no matter what we find.

Before the war I thought it was (somewhat) justified by Iraq\'s WMD, but I might have to reconsider that because of the lack of proof for a big threat of WMD so far ...

Unlike the Bush-administration, that said it was about the war against terror or about the liberation of Iraq, Blair always said the main (and only) reason to start a war was WMD. IMO only the WMD are enough reason to justify this war. Blair\'s point of view is starting to look bad now, though ...

Do you think that the children who\'s father has just been freed from an Iraqi prison for talking bad about the Saddam regime care about Tony Blairs point of view?

The point is that the whole WMD story may have been blown out of proportion to justify this war.

I am definately more glad than you are that Saddam Hussain is blown out of office.

Oh yes, this war is most justifiable, for the sake of obtaining regional normalisation.

1. Remember Saddam\'s nuclear device?
2. Remember using WMD against the Kurds and against his own people?
3. Remember the ugly regeme where people were assasinated every tuesdays and thursdays?
4. Remember Saddam\'s allocation of wealth in Iraq? 98% of the oil revenues to him,his war machine and his castles, and only 2% to the rest of his people?
5. Remember the torturing that was going on in Saddam\'s jails?
6. Remember his two insane sons who were waiting to inherit their father and who were probably worse than him?(see what\'s going on in Syria with the new Assad).

I\'d say \"Good riddance to bad rubbish!\"

I am sure you are. What I fear is an islamistic Republic of Iraq, like a second Iran. The Shi´ites sure would like to have it that way. At least Saddam kept the islamic fundamentalists in Iraq under control ...

Rumsfeld said he wants the american soldiers out of Iraq in 2 years. Who is to say what is going to happen then?

You wanna bet with me on PI/m that the US will never TOTALLY leave Iraq alone?

They will continue having a connection there like in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Qatar ETC.
