I don\'t know how this rating system works though. I would think that it should be an average of all the votes. However, I just voted it as 4 stars, and my one vote changed the number of stars for the entire thread to 4 stars. It had been 5. Surely it\'s an average of all votes and not just the last vote.

I agree with EXIT, knowing who´s replying to which post was an advantage, more useful than rating threads. Everyone´s just gonna have to get used to mentioning the name of the person they´re replying to so there´s no confusion.

Yes, the who you are replying to was nice. I guess they figure the \"quote\" function takes care of it. Myself, I never totally trusted the reply name to stick out enough and usually wrote the person\'s name at the top of my message.

Glad to hear everyone is generally happy with the new forum. I was mainly after the security factors. Now new folks have to have their registrations approved before they can post. I\'d still like to have moderated posting and no PMs for newbies. That would be superb.

Yes, Bruce. I agree. As long as proven members can post immediately, so that the moniker \"live forum\" doesn\'t lose it\'s meaning entirely. The immediate conversation aspect is a big advantage, as you can get a reply while still logged on in your session. To not have it would be a loss.
