Wait a minute--How much is a "dab"

I\'ve assumed that by dab people on this board mean unscrew the spray bottle and dab whatever\'s there on the capillary tube....well I did just that (my first application, wish me luck) and there didn\'t seem to be that much. Is this enough? Too much if I tried to get more than just what I would get by touching the tip to my skin (I did backs of my ears and right under my chin, with some drops of essential oil to cover)?
