Favorite NLP tricks and methods?

I\'m pretty new to NLP, I don\'t know a lot about it. What are the most effective techniques of NLP? Feel free to share its name and how to do it and all that business.

Well I am quite new at NLP but I think the most useful thing for newbies is learning to control your own state. The idea is that you build an automatic autopilot for different situations so that seeing a really beautiful woman will trigger a confident, relaxed and playful mental state.

Actually, studying NLP is like studying the Force. You know you are just a newbie now but the prospect of being the next Darth Vader keeps you going.
