Folks,
I moved the Pherocon 2003 Forum up the ladder so it is easier to keep an eye on. It is really going to happen this time (OK, I\'d give it about a 97% likelihood). Please check it out and if you think you might be able to make it, let your voice be heard on the best weekend for you.
Thanks,
Bruce

It will be noticed more up the ladder, love to come but i live in oz so i wont be able to make it, will keep a good eye on the website though for all the fun and games lol. Good timing to it will be spring in the USA and people will be able to go.

I don\'t know yet if I\'d be able to go or not. But, I think it would be easier for people to make it to Las Vegas rather than Laughlin.

I don\'t know if there\'s any advantage to Laughlin other than having a member there to help, and I don\'t know what kinds of room rates we\'re talking about in Laughlin, but I know you can get rooms really reasaonable in Vegas at some the places like the Sahara and Stratosphere. And, it would seem to me that whatever savings in room cost you can get in Laughlin would be offset by the cost of having to rent a car to drive down there, or whatever other means of transportation it would take to get from Vegas to Laughlin for those who will have to fly.

It doesn\'t matter to me in the end. Laughlin is certainly a lot more affordable to go to than most anyplace else in the U.S. for most people. But, I just thought I\'d throw out the idea of the advantage of Vegas for what it\'s worth.

Im sure that there will be some people turn up. This forum is so big that a city like las vegas would get a decent turnout and probably some locals as well.

Upside,
I will check this out to make sure, but my understanding is that there is a bus directly from the Vegas airport to the various hotels in Laughlin. Laughlin is waaay warmer, cleaner, safer, quieter, mellower, cheaper than Vegas. Vegas is of course Vegas and there are a million fun things to do there. We had a blast, but for a convention venue where we can hear ourselves think, carry on a conversation in a public place without having to shout, and enjoy some warm weather Laughlin seemed better to me. Both are fairly driveable for California, and other neighboring states. I need to get some prices, but I am hoping this will be very cheap to attend and a relaxing vacation at the same time.

It could still be Vegas, but it seems like our time there was total sensory overload and we stayed in a dump for the same money we stayed in a great room in Laughlin for.

BTW, Phil was telling me, you can get very cheap flights to Vegas from nearby major cities (eg: $49. from LA or SF) Anyone able to verify that?

I think if i was going to go to a conference i would prefer it in a quite area, vegas is big and accessable, so maybe some forum members may incorparate it into a general hoilday based around that period of time.

Well, certainly if I were to fly out there for the conference, I would definitely stay over in Vegas a few days as well. I just wasn\'t sure about the added expense and all of getting down to Laughlin for everybody. Of course, the bus from Vegas to Laughlin might take care of that problem. Or, if several members were to coordinate their arrival times, several people could chip in on one car and carpool.

Well, doesn\'t matter. I don\'t want to influence what is done for everybody anyway since the odds are I won\'t be able to go.

This conference looks like its going to take some planning and some people to be needing to committ to the actual event or it could turn a bit confusing. The added expense would be a concern, the bus sounds like a good idea. I hear what youre saying about influencing the actual event if you arent going to go, im just making some comments here on the event. Co-ordination is needed also. The carpool idea is great i think this event could be successful.

OK, since the car pool was my idea, then if I go I get dibs on all the ladies being in my car pool. Now, the rest of you guys are on your own. /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif

Ok you can get the dibs on the ladies you pick up along the way and telling them youre going to a pheromone conference which is going to discuss everything from hormonal behaviour to sexual choice and its opened ended and people will learn a lot from it. A bus idea would help plenty of people out. And the rest of us will take our chances. Just gotta keep this thread on topic as much as possible (AMAP)

>>Just gotta keep this thread on topic as much as possible (AMAP)<<

What does AMAP mean?

OK Watcher, sorry. We do need to keep on topic. My apologies. I\'ve been bad about getting off topic lately. It also doesn\'t make sense for us to be doing the posting on this thread since neither one of us will likely be going to it anyway. So, I won\'t get this thread off topic anymore.

Thanks for the help Franki. And, this isn\'t even your native language like it is mine!

But, I guess it didn\'t register that he\'s put the abreviations since he had just written it out.

Either weekend looks fine to me. I fully intend to attend, barring some emergency at work or at home.

Count me in.

Is anything posted about the type of event we can expect, or the conference, or HOW MUCH FUN IT WILL BE???

There used to be posts about trying to hook it up with a drunken beautician\'s conference.

I guess they got deleted.

I always did think Bruce had good judgment. /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

Yeah what about the female forum members or perhaps some lurking female site visitors who may have been watching the forum for a while and just havent bothered to sign up and contribute perhaps. What numbers are you expecting at this conference bruce judging by the lack of early interest.

It\'s pretty much cost prohibitive for secretarys on the east coast. I hope you do videotape it.

Watcher

Yes perhaps you could devote plenty of webspace to it.
Ie audio of the speeches, video for those with broadband and plenty of pictures and text documents on speeches and new advances and presentations etc. Make it a real interactive event. Perhaps event a forum question and answer session incorparated into the pherocon 2003 conference.

You shouldn\'t have said that FTR. Nobody\'s going to want to go if they know you\'re not going to be there. /ubbthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif

Silly.
Elana\'s showing up and she\'s going to pole dance.
And I heard Lucky was interested in getting lucky.

OUCH! Don\'t throw things! It\'s not ladylike...

Haha im sure lucky would get lucky and elana would be ok dancing the pole and titanium oxide could buy some precious metal and make the event real fancy.

I think Las Vegas is about the cheapest flight from anywhere in the country. I\'ve heard (unverified) that Vegas gives subsidies to the airlines to keep the ticket prices really cheap to bring in the visitors.

I\'ve done a little checking from various places around the country out of curiosity. If you book now, you can buy round trip from the east coast for apx. $260 or so.

I lived in Vegas for 25 years; in my opinion, Laughlin is the better choice. I am committed to being there, but hope I can travel by motorcycle and pick up a woman who prefers non-conventional travel with minimal baggage.

That make sense subsidise the airlines, make the airfaires cheap and it becomes a more attractive destination for travellers and of course gamblers, arent there other tourists attractions in vegas though apart from all those casinos.
