It was before the days of A-none but it had just about every storied aphrodisiac male fragrance of lore.

The rate limiting factor in orgies, as in most sex, is usually the women. One theory is that it is a way for the female to select for the male with the most aggressive sperm since her cervex is swimming in a blend of several guys\' semen. The evolutionary advantage comes from male children and grandchildren that also have competitive sperm. I would guess that a woman who senses a lot of female competition and isn\'t worried about the future would be a likely participant.

So, pending further thought and reflection, I\'d guess that a party where everyone is friendly, relaxed, and drunk would be a good setting. Basically, that\'s a good question. My thinking and experience is that odds of sexual activity increase with the loss of inhibition and the fogging of judgment that a moderate dose of alcohol produces. Sex can certainly happen cold sober and might even be better that way but a little booze always seems to help things along. I would expect that orgies are that way too.

Alcohol seems to remove the \"internal filters\" that stifle and limit responses to pheromones.

I was trying to imagine the optimum situation to create a rare social event.

I ain\'t disputing the merits of your arguments. I do not relish sex while drunk whether its me, or her, or all of us. A little alcohol (a glass of wine or a cocktail) does provide a touch of social lubrication but it is one of a variety of optional mood enhancers available to us. And I HATE being drunk.

<hr></blockquote>Depends on how far back you want to take \"aphrodisiac\", of course. If used in its most basic meaning of \"pleasing to the goddess Aphrodite,\" then methinks you missed the olive oil. Olive oil is the most sacred of oils to Venus/Aphrodite in most texts.

The flowers jasmine and rose have correspondences to love/lust even in western aromotherapy, which is probably the youngest of the magickal systems I\'d trust.

Rose quartz opens second (female: lust) and fourth (male/female: unconditional love) chakras. But you already knew that.

Garnet is squarely at first. Lust/sexual energy for males, foundation for females. Works for me.

Orange plays elemental fire.
Citronella plays off both attraction and elemental fire.
Carnation - uhh - fire. Also strengthing of intention.

Rose geranium. Fire. In African hoodoo magick, rose geranium is used to promote fast, sexual affairs.

That all said, if I had been looking for a specifically sexual result, I would probably not have chosen this particular formula. I was primarily \"messin\' with fire\" and used it more for the fire elemental qualities than the lust. The result was, as you alluded, most interesting.

The garnet and rose quartz were gems added to the bottle.
