Just reporting in - a woman friend was over this afternoon and I rolled one inch on each inside wrist and one in the hollow of her neck. After about 20 minutes, she got post-nasal drip and started feeling goofy and spaced out, said her legs \"felt funny.\" We did a lot of giggling about nothing in particular - we always do, but this was even more pronounced. It took the edge off her personality. Another thing -she\'s the one with the cologne that makes me desperately ill and she had it on in abundance, but after I put the pheromones on, it stopped bothering me, thank GOD because it\'s her favorite and she won\'t stop wearing it.

Isn\'t that weird? She had no headache. She\'s going to see her SO and a male friend of ours - I asked her to report back whether they acted any differently to her.

Hey FTR,

Have you heard back on this?

She said she didn\'t perceive any effect. However, what I noticed was there was no arguing that evening, and she was with two guys, one a lover, one a friend, who, when the three of them are together, two of them usually end up squabbling. PCC took a little of the sharp edge on her personality down. It does that for me, too.

There is an odd feedback loop between sexual excitment and the nose. One of the effects of viagra is a stuffy nose. Other items that I can\'t remember right now also have this effect.

This is the first time I\'ve heard of a PCC/nose link though but I certainly believe it.

Oh, it\'s quite pronounced and the feeling is unique to anything I\'ve felt before.

I\'ve also experienced a stuffy or runny nose during sexual arousal. And a play partner got violent sneezing fits when she got really hot.

From what I remember reading, Viagra causes nasal congestion because is increases capillary blood flow - part of the mechanism by which it causes erection.

Actually, Viagra shuts off return blood flow in the genitals.

There is some other mechanism involved linking sexual excitment and the nose.

Actually, I wasn\'t guessing.

From the prescribing information (emphasis mine):

The physiologic mechanism of erection of the penis involves release of nitric oxide (NO) in the corpus cavernosum during sexual stimulation. NO then activates the enzyme guanylate cyclase, which results in increased levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), producing smooth muscle relaxation in the corpus cavernosum and allowing inflow of blood. Sildenafil has no direct relaxant effect on isolated human corpus cavernosum, but enhances the effect of nitric oxide (NO) by inhibiting phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which is responsible for degradation of cGMP in the corpus cavernosum. When sexual stimulation causes local release of NO, inhibition of PDE5 by sildenafil causes increased levels of cGMP in the corpus cavernosum, resulting in smooth muscle relaxation and inflow of blood to the corpus cavernosum. Sildenafil at recommended doses has no effect in the absence of sexual stimulation.

AND

VIAGRA has systemic vasodilatory properties that resulted in transient decreases in supine blood pressure in healthy volunteers (mean maximum decrease of 8.4/5.5 mmHg), (see CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY: Pharmacodynamics). While this normally would be expected to be of little consequence in most patients, prior to prescribing VIAGRA, physicians should carefully consider whether their patients with underlying cardiovascular disease could be affected adversely by such vasodilatory effects, especially in combination with sexual activity.

I stand corrected.

I still suspect some other mechanism to link sexual excitment with nasal stuffiness. I\'ll do some more research and share what I find.

The NO connection doesn\'t surprise me, but who knows? There could be all kinds of things going on. If you do find anything, it would be interesting to hear, \'cause my nod sur do ged stubbed up...

Just to be clear: it feels like something opens up waay back between the soft pallette and the nasal sinuses, like something balloons there, and the sense of smell is suddenly enhanced, and one side effect of the process is post nasal drip/slightly runny nose, but it\'s quite liquid (sorry so graphic), it\'s not a stuffy nose at all, in fact quite the reverse. It feels like your nose is wide open, which I commented in another post somewhere, is an expression in the black community meaning a state of being in complete lust (got your nose wide open), which I thought was a funny coincidence.

I had a similar thing happen to me the first time I played with A1. I was in a Publix bakery playing with some girl who came up to me and started asking a bunch of questions best asked of the Publix staff (a member of whom was standing there listening to the conversation). /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

When I walked into the bakery, it was like my sense of smell had been amplified and the scents of the breads and the pastries were almost overwhelming.

I would say the effect of the blocked up nost would be simply due to increased breathing which would cause the nose to catch more (muck) from the outside air and that is what would cause the blockages. The same effect i notice but its not a bad thing, the body is just trying to get more oxygen to compensate for increase metabolic/anarobic activity a lot of professional athletes find the same thing, thats why they use pure oxygen to aid training and train at high altitudes to make sure that their bodies are effcient in thier use of oxygen,. IRON supplements are useful as a counter balance to this phoenomoen.
