I have a hard time believing this entirely. I like many expensive men\'s colognes, for one thing...and cucumber and goodnplenty candy don\'t move me (except for their phallic associations !) This guy at skinbiology also says that human pheromones induce aggression in the opposite sex rather than attraction, and recommends we buy his plant-based pheromone products. Anybody try them? Does it help to smell like a plant? (or maybe the thing is to look like a cucumber) oh - wait a minute, I\'m getting distracted ...

However - The hottest guy I know puts Johnson\'s baby powder on his testicles and that smell combined with his own smell - ohmygod, I can\'t get enough of it, it\'s so erotic.

Good\'n\'Plenty has lots of anise. There are a couple of files in the Forum area from somebody who had good luck using anise essential oil.

Licorice (anise) has attributions in african folk magick (both hoodoo and voudon) for power/control and sexual arousal. It is a primary ingredient of the traditional \"Essence of Bend Over\" products.

I also use baby powder on my testicles, especially during the summer months, as I sweat there. I\'ve never thought about the smell being a turnon, but then again, no one\'s ever complained...

The reason this study does not make real world sense lies with the method of measurement. \"Bloodflow\" to the penis and clitoris can\'t be the important metric. Think about the engorgement of your own sex organs (visualize it if you would); what causes the penis and clitoris to become engorged is a lack of RETURN flow. During sexual excitement, the total flow decreases! That\'s how viagra works.

For example, lavender is known to be an anaphrodisiac and decreases libido yet this study rates it a top dog thriller.

Now the scent of baby powder is well known to excite the female but I\'ve never tried it \"locally.\" Sounds like you run in a pretty clever crowd, Ms. Red.

You must be exceptionally limber or have an exceptionally long nose.

It\'s the mix of man smell and baby powder somehow. It\'s not the baby powder itself. There\'s an alchemy that happens.

!!! SEE? This is why it\'s good to ask questions. I just spent a fortune on lavender bath gel, lotion, cologne, based on that study - now you\'re telling me it decreases libido! Direct me - where are you doing your reading, can I read there too? I\'m throwing this lavender junk out as soon as I get home.

Re my clever crowd - I don\'t think he did it by design, probably just powdered re sweat/summer, was as surprised and pleased as I was at my reaction.

Don\'t toss the lavendar quite yet. Over the years, it has had attributions as both increasing _and_ decreasing the libido. Prostitutes in Roman times wore it to attract customers.

It has wonderful healing and relaxing properties when used (diluted, of course) as a massage oil - that last property is from personal experience.

Lavender, with it\'s soothing, content, relaxing and happy qualities, plays a definite role in aphrodisia, just as these feelings are part of the erotic dance.

Thinking that everything in a formula for seducing women (or men) has to do it all -- independently making her engorged and horny -- is like thinking you need 10 Shaquille O\'Neills on your basketball team. Clearly you need good role players for a championship team.

The same goes for pheromones and the aphrodisiac mixes made of them.

This is why -none is wonderful despite its shortcomings. The adrenal rush that women feel may be interpreted as fear if too strong. But that same adrenal rush can be interpreted as arousal, and may well be a necessary component of full arousal.

Anone is found in strongest concentrations in male sperm so that explains a lot. It does produce quite an adrenal rush although not so much on me anymore somehting about being used to the adrenal rush. On the other hand feed youre man some horny goatweed or tribulus supplements found at any healthfood store and youll be on youre way. It will make him a great role model in the bedroom and pump up his natural pheromone signature also and he will feel quite warm that stuff is amazing and has no side effects either (protects against prostate cancer very well)

As usual, a bit of wisdom comes through your postings.

Lavender is, in the books on aromatherapy I\'ve read, listed an an anaphrodesiac, and my experences with the staright stuff supports that. However, sometimes relaxation is the critical mood needed for sex and lavender can enhance/help the relaxation along.

The concept that the \"conflict\" of feelings enhances them all is profound; it\'s also the basis of drama in the writings on the subject since Plato and Aristotle. And we know how women LOVE drama! And \'none does create dramatic tension.

So, you\'re right, don\'t throw out the lavender. However, don\'t expect straight, unadulterated lavender to get an already balanced person into a sexy mood. It might nudge a stressed-out person back into balance where sexual moods can then become a possiblity. For me, straight lavender is neutering.

Lavender neturalises me also musk ie SOE or straight musk smell gets me going as does apricot. ? Dont ask why but the idea is to become relaxed and to relax others.

Yes Whitehall, and thanks.

The French believe an anaphrodisiac is required in any truly successful aphrodisiac formula. That\'s often the \"clean\" or fresh element women rave about when describing their men.

Dudes, don\'t throw away the lavender.

I once got a big hit after smearing bitter orange oil on me. The woman couldn\'t stop smelling my arms. Orange is not an aphrodisiac. The reason it worked is that it was freshening up a -none OD. /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

That is not a surprise, because that´s what we are doing all the time when we apply colognes to cover the mones.

Well its to cover the smell in same cases esp anone. Its the mones that are the quasi-aphrodisac.

Helps to freshen up also.

Neroli (orange blossom oil) is said to be an aphrodisiac. It\'s one of my favorite top notes for colognes, i.e., white Shoulders. Gorgeous. Lots of perfumes have neroli or bergamot, variations of orange. Orange oil in aromatherapy lifts your mood, also clears your sinuses (I guess good for the underlying \'mones to do their magic).
